I use chicken bouillon to boil my potatoes. It gives it a really nice flavor.

Dukes is the best Mayo everrr!!! Love to see different variations. Dominican potato salad will have cut up (boiled) carrots in it and so good…it just adds this nice level of sweetness. This looks so bomb🙌🏽
It looks good, we typically don't add carrots everything else is a go though.

Funny story my late husband loved miracle whip which I hate so I bought one bottle of it and every two or three months I rinse it out after it was done and added mayonnaise to it and never told him it was a miracle whip so he was eating mayonnaise for the last 25 years before he passed

So similar to my moms recipe. We use dill pickles instead of sweet. The carrots are the sweet for our potato salad. I hate MASHED POTATO SALAD. THIS WAS A PLEASURE TO WATCH ❤
I never had carrots in potato salad but I do add vinegar in place of the mustard!!! I do everything else in the recipe!!!! I just love potato salad 🤤

Vinegar is used to add tang to the potato salad. If you add vinegar while the potatoes are boiling it prevents them from breaking down.
I add a cap of vinegar to mine, turns out just fine.
Sir thank you, I loved the tips you gave throughout this video. I totally did the recipe a whole different way, but the technique for cooking just as you did, it turned out amaaaazing. I had it with a side of cucumbers and watermelon, not bbq because it’s 8 am (strange morning cravings).

I can not cook in a dirty kitchen my mom & grandmother taught me that when I was much younger. I am much older now it's a must that my kitchen has to be clean. I always make my potato salad the night before so all the flavors can merry together. I eat it the next day it be the bomb. I make my daddy's recipe potato salad it's the bomb. I watched Justin Wilson for years all those years ago and loved and miss him tremendously and you are just right up there with him, just as entertaining and I am learning so much watching and listening to you! You talk so fast I miss things and I don’t know if age makes it harder for me but I am going to have to watch this one a few times too in order to write down all the things I want and need to remember!
I can see where you can actually sell your “dressing”. That’s how I want to make mine, I just never knew it. And now I know the stage my potatoes need to be cooked and how they need to be prepared to “get” them there! That is certainly the “key” along with the “dressing” and then, that’s ALL there is to it! LOL. 😂 I am fascinated to know your “story”?! Did you learn to cook from your family? Did you take any lessons or have you worked professionally in a kitchen? Have you written any cookbooks?
