It looks like when the lave comes to cover the highway, it will probably happen fast. Amazing elephant likeness. I'm surprised not to see some kayaker's out on the water having fun.
There was a place on the AZ side of the Hoover dam that was is called Temple Bar where these huge rocks came up out of the water. I'm sure it is a sandbar today with the serious drought that has hit the Colorado river. Anyway, those huge stones made me think about them. I have always wondered what kind of archeology records lie under all that sand. That's another chapter in life. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country.

Viking settlers cut down almost all the wild trees long ago. (Scientists say there were around 30% of Iceland covered with forests before.) Thanks to reforestation the forests grew from the remaining 0,4% to 1,9% over the last decades. But it will need a lot of time.
