Again, we absolutely LOVE to come across this type of thing in the woods, always makes us smile to be able to explore and wonder what happened in those areas!
Thanks so much for that Cliff. What a beautiful hike. Some fabulous ruins and gorgeous flowers. Loved your two birds too. I so enjoyed that. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Watch out, I’m sure you take proper precautions but it’s tick city here in Washington county! Lol but on the plus side there’s lots of covered bridges in Wash/Greene counties at least
Hi Cliff, what a beautiful hike, it seemed to have a bit of everything because you have a lake, ruins, forest, a creek, wildflowers and more, wow. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
Worked there for more than 32 years. You are on valley road. That so called water pump is an old hydrant that was at one time was connected to the park water system? I ran it for along time, the water and sewage system not the park. We used to be able to drive all the way down to the lake, doesn't look like can anymore.
Those cut stones are pretty massive. Loved the marks on them. I wonder how long it takes to cut them so they all look alike. A pretty amazing skill by someone. Real nice park. Good signage!!
Cliff, I don't think you've ever done a video about Dead man's hollow just outside of McKeesport Pa. My ggg grandfather David Kuhns ( civil war veteran) was murdered and his body placed on the tracks to cover it up. He was one of many legends of that place. Industrial ruins and the cemetery where my grandfather is buried along the Yough river on the Allegheny trail.. That place is right up your alley.
Cliff, To me that trail was a main road, well travelled. That's why there is extensive drainage and spring house ruins. Too bad there isn't more about it's history especially since a lot of it is early 19th century. Cheers, Rik
I paused the video and looked up the flower with the two bluish and two white petals. I think they are called blue-eyed Mary? They are pretty and dainty.
This was a beautiful walk. I enjoyed it very much. I have a question: Have you ever been to the house of the first governor of Pennsylvania? I think it was in the 1700's. Have you ever done a video on it? I read a story a long time ago about him but don't remember most of it now. I think his horses got stolen.
Lovely wildflowers, Cliff! I do have a question: Do you have much trouble with ticks? You go through so much foliage; I would think ticks would be a problem....
Ticks are a problem every where. One of the preventive things you can do when hiking or mowing the yard is to take duct tape and wrap a few rounds around your ankles several rows up starting at your shoes with the STICKY SIDE OUT......and if they go to jump on you, they will be trapped in the tape.
We had an old water pump like that on the farm 63 years ago
Great stuff love it ty Steve
Nothing better than getting out exploring, getting your steps in and taking in nature. Pure heaven.

The ruins are beautiful. Makes my imagination go wild
Thanks from an ex-pat from the 'burgh. I miss the fields and forests of PA. You are giving them back to me.

What a beautiful park! Thank you for sharing.
This was a great hike, Woodsman. Thank you for taking folks with you.
Great hike yet again. Birds, flowers and the industrious squirrel! I must say I hope all those planes flying over are full of passengers.
Wow! That spring house is so cool! That one wall is ready to fall for sure. Be safe!
Beauteous.

love these hikes
Beautiful hike. Maybe someone had a moonshine still way back in the woods. Take care and be safe.
You have a great channel man!!!
I live in PA and need to get out on the trails.

This park is at my backyard my whole life and never been there. Thanks for this peek!!
We are down the road from the park and practically lived there for years while raising our brood.....and now they are there repeating it as adults.
Nice hike Cliff great unexpected ruins too. Come back in a month or so and that wall of the spring house will probably be down.
I live close to the park great place.
Beautiful place! I believe that the Towhee is a Rufous sided Towhee. Cool birds regardless. 👍🏻
They changed it's name to an Eastern Towhee.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 Oh ok. I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know.
the thumbnail reminds me of some ruins in St. Clair PA
