Nothing better than getting out exploring, getting your steps in and taking in nature. Pure heaven.

Again, we absolutely LOVE to come across this type of thing in the woods, always makes us smile to be able to explore and wonder what happened in those areas!

Great hike yet again. Birds, flowers and the industrious squirrel! I must say I hope all those planes flying over are full of passengers.

Watch out, I’m sure you take proper precautions but it’s tick city here in Washington county! Lol but on the plus side there’s lots of covered bridges in Wash/Greene counties at least

Worked there for more than 32 years. You are on valley road. That so called water pump is an old hydrant that was at one time was connected to the park water system? I ran it for along time, the water and sewage system not the park. We used to be able to drive all the way down to the lake, doesn't look like can anymore.

Those cut stones are pretty massive. Loved the marks on them. I wonder how long it takes to cut them so they all look alike. A pretty amazing skill by someone. Real nice park. Good signage!!

Cliff, I don't think you've ever done a video about Dead man's hollow just outside of McKeesport Pa. My ggg grandfather David Kuhns ( civil war veteran) was murdered and his body placed on the tracks to cover it up. He was one of many legends of that place. Industrial ruins and the cemetery where my grandfather is buried along the Yough river on the Allegheny trail.. That place is right up your alley.

    Cliff,
To me that trail was a main road, well travelled.
That's why there is extensive drainage and spring house ruins.
Too bad there isn't more about it's history especially since a lot
of it is early 19th century.
    Cheers,
    Rik

We are down the road from the park and practically lived there for years while raising our brood.....and now they are there repeating it as adults.

I paused the video and looked up the flower with the two bluish and two white petals. I think they are called blue-eyed Mary? They are pretty and dainty.

This was a beautiful walk. I enjoyed it very much. I have a question: Have you ever been to the house of the
first governor of Pennsylvania? I think it was in the 1700's. Have you ever done a video on it? I read a story a long time ago about him but don't remember most of it now. I think his horses got stolen.

Lovely wildflowers, Cliff! I do have a question: Do you have much trouble with ticks?
You go through so much foliage; I would think ticks would be a problem....

    • @kathleenhannigan2487
      @kathleenhannigan2487 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Ticks are a problem every where. One of the preventive things you can do when hiking or mowing the yard is to take duct tape and wrap a few rounds around your ankles several rows up starting at your shoes with the STICKY SIDE OUT......and if they go to jump on you, they will be trapped in the tape.
