That was fantastic thanks Cliff, my favourite type of video, just love those flowers. The birdsong was incredible to. No snakes but a pretty toad. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
What a diverse and interesting park. Love when you name and give information about the various species, its like taking a free online nature class! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Yayyy you found the nosebleeds~the purple trilliums...my faves love them! remember mom and I called them nosebleeds. The petals look like dried blood lol...I do not remember they had a bad smell to them tho.
I very much enjoyed this video also such beauty, I live in East Central Alabama, when I was a young girl everywhere you would look there were many Dogwood trees now not so much, I love those trees, I don't know what happened, thanks again for sharing this beautiful land Cliff
It's funny, I was on a hike with my wife today. I found myself looking at the ground and finding those little flowers that are off the side of the trail. I used Google Lens on my phone to identify some flowers we found: yellow star grass, eastern blue eyed grass and multi flora rose.
Love those trilliums! The red trillium is T. Sessile, named so because the flower has no stem and sits on top of the leaves. The other trillium could be drooping trillium (t. Flexipes) or nodding trillium (t. Cernuum). They look very similar, but I do know that at least in Ohio, nodding trilliums are extinct, so we have drooping trilliums here (and they come in white, pink or dark red!). I am dreaming of meeting a painted trillium someday!! We don't have those here! Thanks for the beautiful lunch time walk😊
I am watching an older video of yours.. Wildflowers everywhere.. and it made me think of when I was a little kid .. my sisters brother and I would be playing in the woods which we did all day.. we would eat berries and sassafras leaves.. I haven't seen sassafras in so very long .. do you ever run upon it .. I live in Virginia..
All those different birds singing was so cool! I have alot of Solomon sleeve growing down by my mailbox. That creek would have flooded big time for it to get way up where you were walking. that would have been something to see.
Raccoon Creek State Park is apparently on a PIT flight path, or several of them. I think the airport is only 15-20 miles from there. It's still a beautiful state park, despite the air traffic. Thanks for the hike. Loving all the wildflowers!
Isn't it a wonder how the flora and fauna seem to know where the boundary lines are? I have never seen a jack rabbit in Louisiana. Or a hissing moth, like the one I saw in Texas on the side of a gas pump.
Hi Cliff, what a peaceful location (apart from the planes) so many absolutely beautiful wildflower's, congratulations on finally finding the elusive Red Trillium as I know that you have longed to see one for quite a while. A very well maintained and signed park, I should imagine it sees quite a few visitors passing through it. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
I enjoyed this hike immensely. Love nature, the flowers, the birds, the trees, the babbling creek, most of the critters (sorry snakes and spiders). And I really appreciate that you share your knowledge of these things with us. As always, thank you! 💛🌻
Awesome place ☺️❤️🥰 in Colorado we have Chokecherry Bushes, which I love we make Chokecherry Jelly and other things with them. The bushes have thorns on them, the Deer and Bears love them. When we pick the berries you have to wear leather gloves 🥰 They grow wild everywhere 🥰
Wow! So nice to see these trails again. Been decades since the last walk through them when raising the kiddos. Did you see any Lanternflies.....and what did you do? Were you able to take the tour of the Wildflower Reserve Interpretive Center?
Thank you for the BEAUTIFUL hike! We have the Red trillium in Illinois but I was never sure what they were. Glad to finally know their name. Have learned many things from your videos. Thank you again for what you are doing.
Spent menny hours there . Use to skip school and hike the trails.
I love these walks in the woods. I wish I could do this. Thank you for sharing

Very nice, even with the jet noise. So many different species of flowers. Later there will most likely be different ones

I was amazed how well the trails were marked. When you showed us the map, it looked liked a can of worms. Someone did a great job.
What an amazing place! Thank you for this adventure!

Seeing the red one. Thinking he was more excited to smell it.
I noticed Cliff uses his sense of smell a lot. My oldest child had the same trait.
Just realized I might get phlox and dames rocket mixed up. Phlox 5 petals - Dames Rocket 4. From a distance , easy to confuse
Hello Toad n Sweet Singing Birds etc. again gt location

I watch this video over and over and over 🌷🍄 thank you for identifying the plants
beauteous. Were there people fishing and swimming while you were visiting the park? Usually pretty crowded on weekends.
I didn't see any that day.
Wow! So nice to see these trails again. Been decades since the last walk through them when raising the kiddos. Did you see any Lanternflies.....and what did you do? Were you able to take the tour of the Wildflower Reserve Interpretive Center?
No lanternflies. Just hiked some of the trails.
Very cool looking place. Do you ever do meet ups?
I go to meetups sometimes, but don't usually organize one myself.
Cool place... Might need to take a road trip! Question: Have you had significant tick problems this spring?
No more than usual.
Thank you for the BEAUTIFUL hike! We have the Red trillium in Illinois but I was never sure what they were. Glad to finally know their name. Have learned many things from your videos. Thank you again for what you are doing.
Just found your channel today. Will be catching up.
Aren't May apples what Leah asked Rachel for while they were married to Jacob in the Old Testament?
yes I do, love it!
Aren't there also morels where you see trillium?
Perhaps, but not always.
My new catch phrase is: WHAT THE FROCK! If you want to wear a frock you can.

I ❤ seeing all the flowers.
