I cant tell you how many times in the past when reading books or magazine articles on weight training we were told to keep the breathing passages OPEN during the lift to prevent stroke or other such things. Also i recall Arthur Jones always recommending that we relax all the other muscle groups except the ones we are working at the time....(like how is this even really possible if you are training hard?). Such dangerous advice putting people's spine health at risk but the BBing mags and books are so filled with BAD advice! btw the kettlebell demo cracked me right the hell up lolol! Yes please more "3 Things" videos (especially the deadlift!) and def love to keep up with your side business and any other goings on in your life you see fit to share. You're an inspiring individual and I always learn something or simply feel newly motivated after seeing your videos. Stay healthy, Brother!

Searched your channel regarding warmups but I would appreciate a new long winded video for beginners how I should warm up before I lift and when I don´t have so much space like you to do jumps, bear crawls etc, when someone lifts in a basement or garage? how to warmup 101!? Mobility? Stretching? Specific Exercises? Activation exercises? How many sets? reps? Wenning warmups? Mark Rippetoes no warmup at all? How should a proper Brian Alsruhe warmup look like for all the different training programs and splits and like lower body, upper body, full body, body part splits, bro split etc. Can you please share detailed warmup routines for alle the different splits and templates please, like I said, especially for garage gym owners with limited space and without access to fancy machines or no machines at all, just bands, bodyweight, barbells, dumbbells etc. I also can´t use a sled at home and if I´m in a commercial gym if that´s a necessary information. I know there is ton of information out there and I bet that many guys comment that just do this or that and thats it but I would love to get your advice because I believe in what you say and I like you. Thank you very much

He has a couple from about 5 years ago. Dynamic warm ups. I think what you are requesting might be a little different, but it may help for now? I hope so. I haven't watched them recently but I think he does go into how he warms up pre-work out. It is pretty intense, you may also look into his recovery videos where he talks about some things along these lines as well. If I remember correctly. I could be completely wrong but it may get some info you didn't have already.
Hope this is somewhat helpful, good luck to you!

"Mark Rippetoes no warmup at all?"
He says you should warm up with the same movement. It doesn't have to be cardio or some other funny movement to be a warm up.

The story of neversate is equal parts inspiring and terrifying as I am moving here soon and looking at the map there isn't a gym anything like the one I go to now. Having briefly met the people at your gym I know the impact a quality group of people has on a lifting environment and intend to grow where I'm planted. The process of making my own gym from a financial and physical sense doesn't scare me nearly as much as making the community. Great things don't come from easy tasks though so it will be time to put in the hours

All 3 of these mistakes can apply to all the big lifts as well. Set up, breathing and head position.
Can' tell you how many times I see people move there head/neck when doing deads and bench press. It pains me to even watch.

I feel I can get a bigger breath if I pull in the last 10% during the initial descent. I think it's because my torso is extended, giving my diaphragm more room and separating my ribs more. I'm not squatting anywhere near big numbers yet though, so maybe that will have to change eventually.

  • @haitsjesse

I would disagree about head position. If you have a very long torso compared to your leg length then looking up will actually help put you in the correct position for power. But for most people looking down is indeed better.
