    VIDEO DESCRIPTION ⬇️
    Lately, I have been on a mega extreme minimalist home decluttering journey. This has also transcended into me revisiting my extreme minimalist wardrobe and closet. I am also a mindful minimalist. It just also happens that I have very few possessions. The minimalism that I practice is not about the number of items. Rather the pragmatic reasoning of having less to travel with, pack, carry and take care of.
    I do not want to simply get rid of stuff to own less. I want to do so but keep my home orderly, stylish & aesthetic. Also keeping my personal style intentional, smart & practical. I will discuss why I am decluttering certain clothing items and what I am keeping. This is also a minimalist wardrobe and closet tour.
    It is a 24 item wardrobe. That is not a capsule. Further to these 24 clothing items, I have 3 outer jackets, 3 bags and soon to be 3 pairs of footwear.
    There are always still practical specifications to consider when decluttering. Such as functionality and lifestyle. What may or may not be useful to us may be useful to someone else and vice versa. I have also discovered that climate, is proving to be very impactive on the type of possessions we keep versus get rid of in extreme minimalism. Everyone’s lifestyle is different. Therefore may warrant a need for very different possessions.

    A few side notes before the video description: Slight error towards the end, where the wardrobe list/ notes page appears, it should be numbered to 24. However, After 24, the numbers are out of sync. Automatic Typo. Furthermore at the end when I am discussing the £20 swap out mirror 🪞 I forgot to mention the reason we are downgrading in quality but not size, is we may decide to sublet our apartment for a while whilst traveling. So we still want it to look nice and light but not have the nagging worry of an expensive item being broken.

    I’ve gotten down to:
    2 pairs of work gear
    3 leggings
    1 shorts
    4 t shirts
    1 dress
    2 pj sets
    1 winter coat
    1 hoodie
    1 going out jacket
    1 work shoes
    1 running shoes
    1 everyday shoes
    It’s so much easier to handle, the only downside is I do have to do more washing (so it seems) but I can get everything in one wash load which saves more time in the long run

      Thank You 😊 they are actually white sheer curtains 😊 but we layer them in front of a beige sheer pair as we need them to be abit thicker to stop drafts in the cold weather and also filter abit more light out. As in the summer if we wanted to say watch our projector at 8pm it would still be quite light and make the clarity of the projection not very good 😊

    I really needed this! I was down to about 35 items a while back (also in the UK) and it's ballooned a bit, particularly when I went up a size and I have been holding on to smaller stuff. So you've inspired me to get it back down again and to get rid of a couple of pairs of shoes. Thanks! Love the tour at the end, really looking great (though plants are the one thing I don't minimise as they give me too much joy!)

      Thank You ☺️ I do love plants too but a few of mine were not happy in this apartment. It has high humidity yet has cold drafts in the winter. So I decided to get rid of most of them now whilst they’re still in reasonable health 😊 I talk to my remaining monstera and snake plant 🪴 asking them if they want water 😂 🤦‍♀️

    I appreciate your through explanation of how you utilize the remaining items in your wardrobe. I often want to go further decluttering but I always wonder how to deal with issues that arise from not owning certain things. For example- I often get rid of fancy/special occasion clothes right before I am invited to a fancy event and then I regret getting rid of those items.

      Yes so true, I do actually keep my three dresses for this reason. But if it’s ultra formal I have no choice except to borrow, rent or thrift. On sites like Vinted in the uk there are some very nice secondhand options that you can simply sell on when you’ve used them for the event 😊 👗

    If I had to carry every thing I own I would own very little. My granddaughter traveled to Italy by herself and took two big bags/suitcases. One opened in the street and she said she was so tempted to walk off and leave it all.

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, taking too much stuff would definitely spoil the experience wouldn’t it. I can see why she wanted to leave her stuff. Even smaller bags can sometimes feel heavier if carried for a long time. I’ve learned this too. Which is why now I’m so stringent about barely taking anything 😊

    Great video, have you ever seen the small folding tables that you can have to eat dinner on, but you can do multiple things with them, me and my son play games, side table, you could use it as a mini desk for a laptop, they are great, I normally fold mine down when not in use. Think mine was £12 from argos, if you get on without it then thats great, but if not those tables are great without taking up much space

      @SagelifeMinimalism  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank You ☺️ I have yes, we actually use to have one.However, we got rid of it as we don’t really have anywhere to store stuff even if folded flat. So we decided we’d just use something that was multifunctional 😊 as in we already had it in use somewhere else. So sometimes we use our kitchen stools as tables. And now there’s only a need for one bedside stand we just decided to use one in the living room 😊

    I really enjoyed your thought process/analysis of this declutter.
    I have to say, with your colouring, I would probably have made different decisions, but obviously that is not for me to determine! Whether you like a fabric or not is clearly going to influence whether to keep it, I can't stand some fabrics.
    The stigma on hoodies on women in the UK is ridiculous to me, surely that would depend on "how" the hoodie is worn and what kind of hoodie it is! Maybe you'd like to keep in mind that you're going travelling and that stigma does not exist elsewhere, at least not in Europe and probably not anywhere non-English-speaking. Thinking of the pink hoodie which probably really suits you, goes with so many other items in your wardrobe (eg over a black or green outfit).
    Personally, I find that despite everything, there is an influence from the environment I'm in; I will reach for different things when I spend whole summers away than in the same temperatures/weather at home, so again, if I were you (I know, I'm not!) I would be hanging on to some of those other items you've enjoyed but are culling for numbers' sake (3 of everything) in view of how you might feel in a different place...

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I pick colours mainly based on what I like to look at. That is my favourite colours. Green, Beige and blue are my favourite colours and I feel they do suite me. I’ve been told that by many people too. I actually have also had colour analysis and have been told I have a neutral/universal skin tone. This is not always visible on camera but I have actually got blue and yellow undertones to my skin. Yet my hair is warm. So it really makes everything balance out I think. I am getting rid of these things because I realised, I really either don’t wear them or don’t reach for them very often. The 3 of everything was a rough guide for me. I also hinted at other areas I thought I may need more… like a 4th pair of bottoms. Regarding the hoodies… sadly I think it may be a cultural or class thing, in the uk? The problem with social & cultural influence , although it’s a good point you make is, it can often stay stigmatised in one’s mind regardless of a new environment. Also I want to keep a wardrobe that will be useful for me until I go and make it as universal as possible for me. Which is why I have chosen a broad spectrum of things that I feel will work for me. I’ve come to a place in my life where I don’t really look for outside influence. Such as a new setting. I wear what I feel comfortable in. But also, am a product of my own upbringing. I suppose some habits and belief systems stick even when we come to a place in life where we no longer want outside influence. But instead, to listen to our own thoughts and intuition. 😊

    • @Woeschhuesli
      @Woeschhuesli 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SagelifeMinimalism Absolutely, we each have our own tastes, likes, dislikes and what we feel suits us!
      I do think (as I frequently move between several countries for quite long periods - months - at a time) we are more influenced by our environment than we think as regards our choice in clothing, no matter how independent of mind we perceive ourselves to be!! It will be an interesting exercise to see how you feel about it once you've spent a longer time traveling to different places, continents and for lengthier periods of time, I will be curious to hear about it all.

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ok 😂 so when I say pjs… I mean loungewear. I don’t actually sleep in anything. If ever I feel cold, I will sleep in one of my cotton hoodies. Which obviously I have 2 of. So I can always be wearing 1 whilst I wash 1. What I was illustrating is that if anybody wanted to emulate the pattern of my wardrobe, as I have a pair of linen trousers and a pair of leggings. That are both comfortable. It would be possible to sleep in a pair whilst you washed a pair. But really I use the word pjs as being synonymous with loungewear. Clothes that are comfortable. I was trying to show that if we pick clothes that are comfy we don’t need extra loungewear clothes 😊
