The spot you guys were discussing in the kitchen … you could put a pretty wood ladder that goes all the way up parable to the shelves above the pantry!!!!
Maybe the steps can be wide enough to put aesthetic baskets on them (of frequently used pantry items).
you can just set those on the counter if you have to climb up!!

Where Clayton wanted the rolling island is where a library ladder could go.. slide it to the left to keep it out of the way and slide it in front of the fridge when you need access to those shelves, it’d be on a wheel system like a real library ladder

I think it would fun to do like a bookshelf latter. Look up library room with latter for inspo but in the kitchen next to the fridge could be fun something on wheels so that you have access to the shelves above

Congrats y’all! 🎉🎉🎉 The house is great!!!! I love that y’all want hutches everywhere bc I’m a fan of hutches too. So, I’m an Interior Designer in GA, and I think an island on casters is BEST and then a larger, tall hutch on the other side of the room. But, I think a butcher block one may compete w the floors too much. I would do a custom island on casters w a beautiful white marble w minimal veining and then replace the green glass w the same marble. Butcher block countertops are perfect for the house style…just needs a little oil. Can’t wait to see what y’all do!

Definitely would suggest replacing all of the kitchen counters.
Also I think instead of doing two hutches in the kitchen. Do one huge one on the wall closer to the lounge that can serve as a pantry. And then on the other wall, I would do a server that you can put your coffee machine on top of and maybe one cute open shelf - like make it into a coffee bar.
And in the kitchen table or dining space, definitely have another hutch as you walk in. Try get a big, tall one that you can put all of your beautiful dishes in and glassware that you will use when you have people over!
Thought for a bit on the kitchen island, but I think I would just rather redo the kitchen counter tops instead!
I also would lower the shelves that are above the pantry. Or maybe just take the top levels off as it is a bit too high.
And then there’s that storage cupboard on the left of the stove and I think the shape of it may be a bit long and skinny. I would put like two open shelves next to it. Or nothing at all.

How unique and cool would it be to put one of those wall mounted library ladders that slide on a track in the kitchen next to those shelves that are super high up?! Even if you didn’t use it much, it’s worth it for the corkiness factor alone lol. LOVE the house!!! CONGRATS you two!!!
