You have inspired me to do this. Not for any church setting but just a fun cool project

Great job! I’m in the midst of doing this with an old spinnet piano that I got for free. I was originally going to get it tuned and then use it, but I got an expert opinion that the piano wasn’t worth restoring. I’m right now in the middle of getting those 200 tuning pegs out 😵‍💫

Thanks for the guidance. Taking my old piano apart as we speak!

I may do this for my home:) my husband really hates moving pianos, but I can't stand the look of the digital ones. This may be the perfect solution for my family with a few alterations:)

We are looking to do this as well. What was the width and other dimensions of the keyboard bed and your actual keyboard? I am worried our keyboard won't fit (width wise) inside the key bed.

Thanks for the comment! Our keyboard is 54" and I believe the shell is 55" (definitely measure before you pick out your piano shell). There should be plenty of room depth-wise, especially if you take the harp out.

Super important to measure width as many 88 key controllers will not fit, especially if they have controls like volume or mod wheel on the left side. With some effort you can trim the case and pick up maybe an inch or so if that helps but find someone with woodworking experience to help as it is a hassle.
