You forgot 2K’s VIP system; where the game records how you play - tendencies, situations, plays, etc.. are logged so you can either A) play yourself in AI form, B) play a friends VIP as if they are actually playing, or C) play against celebrities VIP’s.
The problem is EA doesn’t want to be anything sim players want it to be. Looking at the quality of Madden in every area shows that EA doesn’t care at all. We care more than they do.
The problem is the NFL gaming community (you included) I saw you streaming madden with nxtgen720. None of you are stepping up. Ryanmoody has 80k subs and just makes 10secs daily clips of bugs in the game. Sorry to say this But AngryJoe said it best you guys are morons and EA will continue win.

Content doesn't mean replay value all of the time. Most Madden players only invest into one game mode and never touch other game modes. Not even once. The best way to measure replay value is to determine which game has a stronger community based on similar timelines. For example, who is left playing Madden 05 and who is left playing ESPN NFL 2K5. And if you base it on a more honest basis such as this, you will find ESPN NFL 2K5 has more replay value.
Graphics shouldn't even have been compared. Madden wouldn't even have to do anything and would improve just because the technology difference in the past 15 years.
Don’t forget you also can assign certain defensive players to opposing wide receivers and even double team the #1 receiver in 2K5, still can’t do that in Madden.
NFL Needs to grow a set and stop signing away the "exclusive" rights. Competition here would force EA to do something better. This is a sad spot we are in.

Besides the great game-play that you competently went over, what made ESPN NFL 2K5 so awesome, was the TV broadcast cameras and replays...absolutely stunning for its time - it felt like you were in a real game. On the other hand, Madden games have always been, are now and always will be about trash gameplay and ridiculous cameras. Think about it. They make up their own camera angles that quite frankly make me want to gag. Stupid close-ups after every play with choppy animation transitions, repeated and repeated at nauseam. And how 'bout that spiffy new intro. they got going. What is it, 5 or 6 players jumping and swaggering like a bunch of idiots...sorry EA, never saw that on a TV broadcast EVER! But that's EA's MO - who cares if it's realistic, the kiddies will love it! Quick question - Does anyone at EA Sports understand what wrap-tackles and gang tackling is? I'm still waiting! Now in all fairness, a couple of the Madden games were fun and I know most people have their favorites. But at no time were any of them a realistic portrayal of NFL football.
THIS. Still blown away at the in-game replays in NFL 2K5, specifically the broadcast breakdowns of big plays and contextual cutscenes (i.e. kicker kicking the gatorade bucket after missing a FG, QB throwing his helmet on the ground after an INT, etc.).

2k5 is the best football game there will ever be. Not only the gameplay but the features and things you could do. Loved the crib and collecting all the trinkets and custom dream teams... Oh what i wouldnt do for a remaster :(
The right stick in NFL 2k5 is God is you master the right stick you'll unlock another part of the game bro I used to hate running in 2k5 until I realized that 90 percent of the run game behind the line and before you interact with the defense is mapped to the left and right stick
Even watching the Ai go at it is a fine wine experience in 2K5 i did a super bowl rematch with both Ai controlled teams going at it and it felt like how the rematch would actually go if you want to give it a shot for this year the 2k22 roster update has been released

You are way to nice about Madden 21. The animations are scripted and awful and its only based on animations and chance. No skill what so ever needed and your pretty much watching a movie more than playing a game. I watch Ryan Moody's videos on TH-cam all time and finds nothing but glitches on top of that. This a polar opposite contest. NFL 2k5- One of the greatest football games of all time! Madden 21- Probably one of the worst video games not just in football but in AAA gaming ever. Madden 05 vs NFL 2k5 however would be more tightly contested.

I did this same comparison several years ago where I gave 2K5 the nod, did a scathing video review of M22 and did a recent video listing the top 5 madden games of all time where all the games listed were in the 2000s. The last thing I’ve been is “easy” on the Madden franchise. I just call it like I see it, good or bad.

Frostbite is the worst. The Ignite engine was better than that and that engine is terrible as well.
They did. They changed from the Ignite Engine to Frostbite. No dramatic fixes to gameplay at all

I got an Mclassic cable hooked up to my 360 , set the output to 720, the picture quality for this game is mint...

I was beyond crushed when EA was given the exclusive NFL license. I knew what it meant for 2K sports, and 2k was so much better. F EA and F the NFL.
2K Has DL Stunts, CB Can play inside or outside the WR. VIP, the crib. etc.

Sucks but madden is a money maker for them. Hoping the upcoming NFL 2K game changes this down the road but I’m skeptical
Blame the NFL! They gave EA EXCLUSIVE rights to make NFL games. EA has not really tried to make a good game since.

I also used to just put the game in and watch it like it was an actual game. Loved it
UFC Undisputed 3 is much better than EA UFC 4 as well.
Seeing "The Crib" in the menu ultimately takes it back. Trying to get those personal accolades to deck it out with memorabilia.

You actually have to be patient when running the ball and pick/choose how to use turbo and the stick. Once you learn that, running is so much fun.
