Tried 866 with Wilson Audio Sophia 3s. Wasnt the best Match. The 590 AXII was like heaven.

I can really tell that this is a kick ass set up. When I listen to other systems on TH-cam through my modest system I can't really hear anything special, but with this the mid range and highs really come through. I can only dream of ever having this in my home though😔

Jay, i have a Wilson Sasha II and in the last days i listen to the Mágico M2 and i was crazy about the sound signature but didn’t have the dinâmica stage i like, i like to listen to music at high volumes. I use Devialet Expert Pro 440Ci and I’m considering changing the speakers to the A5 or the S5 MKII. With which speakers would you prefer to live, the Wilson Sasha or the A5 or the S5 MKII? I don’t wanna change the amplification because the room decoration.

Jay, your are clowning man, just clowning, I had to put my headphones on, the Boulder 866 is hitting it's stride man. Keep doing what you are doing we all get to benefit from your love of audio and exquisite taste in equipment and cables. BaddaBing, BadaBang, what is up dude? With the high qualities of equipment and space you own, the expectation becomes a system that is ruthless in exposing flaws in recordings (Sheffield Labs' quality is doggone good), mixing, etc. including new hardware additions, which brings up the question about your source material pedigrees from an audio engineering perspective, for example which instruments are represented in recordings preferred for your critical listening sessions? Here it is again, if a stereo set-up is maximized for a certain taste in music to the exclusion of the rest, don't you think recorded material of various and unfamiliar multi-ethnic instruments with individual dynamics may not shine a given high end stereo system?

With my limited knowledge of studio recordings go i would think whatever is playing in the studio, live or cut is changed by the mixer and mastering guy. Not sure what his question is?
Oh yeah Jay, if an ultra quality front end system is mated with a budget point source speaker would you not conclude there is a mismatch because the audience do not not have million dollar front end systems at their fingertips, meaning, they must do with what is available raising the question, so why bother? It might be prudent evaluating budget speakers with budget equipment, a more useful direction for the buyer.
