When her voice is joined with full orchestra it is heavenly. I can't helped being drowned by the beautiful melodies and counter melodies. Her vocal intepretation is superb! Her giving notes there full value and sometime extra uncover meaning the composer was unaware. Her ability to make her voice sound like an instrument, her vibrato, low notes, resonance, truly devine!...not to forget the orchestration is so beautifully written and performed..
I think I saw the original airing of this but it seemed longer (?) and might have been on the Boston Pops PBS show(?). I remember being very impressed even though i was already a fan of Sarah Vaughn.
When I hear Sarah Vaughan sing nothing else matters, my weary mind is rested.
