- Street Performer, Covent garden, London - Street Performer at Covent garden. Let's travel to London and let's visit the area of Covent garden to watch a great performance by a street performer. Since the 1660s Covent Garden has never missed a chance to put on a performance by a variety of street performers. The first record of Covent Garden street entertainment came in 1662, when Samuel Pepys’ diary notes that a marionette show featuring a character named Punch took place on the Piazza. Today, the custom continues.
A shopping and entertainment hub in London's West End, Covent Garden centres on the elegant, car-free Piazza, home to fashion stores, craft stalls at the Apple Market, and the Royal Opera House. Street entertainers perform by 17th-century St. Paul’s Church, and the London Transport Museum houses vintage vehicles. Upscale restaurants serve European cuisines, and nearby theatres draw crowds for plays and musicals.

Fun cobble stone street place. I wish we had this sort of thing in US cities. I wonder if gold mime's boots are attached to the box allowing him to lean over so far forward without falling face first? Is that the Roman soldiers big muscular form real or a costume? If real, he's a strong body builder or laborer. Walking around in Europe is so pleasant and interesting in the Summer.
