    You have to add jobstress, jobless stress, visa transfer fees which cause 1/10th of salary, relocation which happens 3 times in year(expenses 2/10 of salary), items we loose and buy again.. company may not cover for these, especially contract jobs.

    Prem - you have to add 500 per month per child towards college education. At todays cost 4-year college education costs 120,000 dollars and it goes up by 6% per year. So from the year the child is born you have to save 500 per month per child towards education.

    Best video ever made that clearly explains our life in US financially, but people in India thinks that we earn in Crores and don’t help them financially. Sad part of this story is even our own family don’t believe this fact.

  • @Krish3509
    @Krish3509 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Pretty much the same story in Canada. I live in GTA and the rent is comparable if not higher. Medical insurance pretty much gets covered at work for a nominal payment which is a huge plus. Most companies have a decent pension system which combined with Govt benefits comes handy when you retire and hopefully by then the house would be fully paid for. BTW good job guys, keep this going.

    Thanks for posting this video. I agree that it’s hard to save anything with high inflation now. but if I compare my personal financial saving back to 2009 it was completely a difference story..With one person working ( me and my wife, no kids) we saved 30-40% of my salary. now my salary increased x 3 but cost of living increased x 6.. I remember we paid $ 525 for a rent in North Austin but now it’s $2200. if you add rent insurance and medical copayments that will bring down your saving a bit…

    Hai, i am not residing in US. I am just asking for clarification. Every US NRI saying education and medical is free. Then what is the necessity for the health insurance?

    • @ArthiPrem
      @ArthiPrem  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No medical is not free in the USA and its very costly so should have insurance to lower the cost
      K-12 education is free but have to send extra classes which will come around 400 per month

    Want to know the real impact of inflation and cost increases in general? My first salary in late 1980's was 42,000. We managed all of the above expense items and still managed to save a few $ every month. The buckets may be little different. No Mobile or streaming but AT&T calls to India was $1.40 per minute. The telephone bills were the second highest budget item. Looks like you need more than double these days.

    You have not included mobile phone purchase and monthly payment. I feel some of the expenses are little exaggerated. Further going to India every year is not possible with that salary. It can be once in 2 years or 3 years. Based on these adjustments, I think there can be a savings of another $500 per month. With thise, we need to add our annual contribution towards 401K. These two will constitute our savings.
