Hi, I m on H4 EAD and we are in CA. My spouse (with old employer) and my stamped visas are valid until Sep 2025, but our I94 and my ead expires in feb 2025. My spouse's h1b extension (new employer) and my h4 extension are already applied and it is in process. I m planning for short travel by next week to extend my i94 (in order to get eligible for auto extension of EAD). Will it be a problem when i enter back to us in getting extended i94 as per my stamped visa ?.. Asking this because i m bit worried leaving the kids and family here when i m on travel.Kindly reply..

Did anyone recently went for Stamping. Last time I was eligible for drop box and I got appointment in Delhi and I dropped the document in Chennai. Is this options still available? I mean we can drop our document any location in India and is any eligibility for drop box was changed recently? I am still with the same company and my last visa stamping was Aug 2023 and no annotation in my visa.

Admin does not need permission from legislative branch for this. Possible-yes, likelihood- unknown 2. There is a strong chance that USCIS will be marked as a National Security Agency. That would mean individuals in the agency will need to obtain security clearances to do their jobs. Security clearance is a complex and time consuming task. If it is combined with cuts in the FBI, it will take even longer. This will effectively shut down all immigration for a while. 3. Things like mandatory interviews, extreme vetting, public charge proof are all likely to be brought back. All are likely to slow things down. There is a chance that even H-1B applications may need an interview. 4. State side visa stamping that was created as a pilot last year and was to be implemented is probably going to be shut down. Visa stamping will have to be done at consulates and if there are job cuts there, consular visa operations will be massively impacted. 5. Birth right citizenship will become an issue and will be decided by the Supreme Court. Till the decision comes down, it is highly likely admin will ask dept of state or social security admin to go slow on issuing any passport or SSN. Immigration status will perhaps be needed to shown at hospitals to claim US citizenship. 6. OPT period will be toned down to 6 months or max 1 year with no extensions.
