  • (Attempt #3 bc I don't know how to line up sheet music to audio apparently)
    Felt like I'd taken enough time off from TH-cam, and I've been wanting to make a video of this song for a while. Anyways, if you bothered to check the description, which I'm not sure if that's something most people do on shorts, thanks. Hope you enjoyed the video, leave a comment, click the thumbs up, and subscribe for more content.

    Hi all! I’d like to do more videos like this, could be highlighting solos, or section features, or really anything else that I find or gets recommended to me, but I’d like to know first if there’s any real interest in it. So please let me know here if this type of content is something you’d like to see more of in the future (don’t worry about the Cuphead videos though, I’m still gonna keep making those).

      If you can, do aviary action from cuphead or pyramid peril, although I don’t know if the trombone parts for both songs are good enough for a vid

      @@hughjayn1s I’ll definitely do those, as is with most of the Cuphead tunes I haven’t done yet, I need to buy mutes for those tunes, and/or they have long/difficult solos. But trust me, l will get to those in time

      To be fair, they are much more physically draining, which is why I don’t think we see as much of them. Though I definitely agree, they should get a lot more love!

      @@raulcarrillo4467 yeah! i never thought about it that way. also dont want to bother you but i just started expirimenting/ playing as a side hobby with a trombone and i am stuck above a f aove the bass cleff staff, Is there anything to know about how to play higher notes/ the process of building range?

    • @raulcarrillo4467
      @raulcarrillo4467  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trumpetman2352 a couple of things:
      1. The higher you go, start to move your airstream downward into the cup of the mouthpiece. When you play mid/low range, you should be blowing straight through the mouthpiece, but by the time I reach high C and above, my airstream is almost straight down to the bottom of the cup.
      2. Make sure you’re staying relaxed, and blowing fast air. Low notes require a slow, wide column of air, but higher notes need a tight, narrow, fast stream of air. Think of a fire truck’s hose, vs putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose.
      3. Just playing more in the “just comfortable enough” range. If high F is comfortable to play (consistently), try playing it in 6th position, and then slowly sliding up until you find your break. Or if F isn’t even comfortable, then find where the comfort stops, and play lots of music in that range.

      Hi! In this video I’m playing on a King 3B Silversonic, I believe this one is from the early 70’s. I also have a Benge 190F large tenor, and my bass is a Kanstul 1662i.

      @@raulcarrillo4467 Hi Raul, is this balancer really already been used in the (early) 70s? I would date this feature to the mid/end 80s but I might be wong. Anyway, the/your 3b is a great classic jazz-horn and you sound awesome with it!!
