That was very enjoyable to watch. I have the same craft and waiting for iNAV to have better VTOL setup before I fly. Watching your video gives me an idea of where its at. Cheers!
Definitely would appreciate a video of VTOL setup in Inav for the zmo hobby VTOL but really any VTOL I'm sure would get me close thanks in advance love the content I found your channel on the "$1000 plane that doesn't work" video they got me too 😅
Awesome flying, dude! 😃 But yeah, there's still some work to do there... The issue before the landing, could it be the wind? Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I think your back motor isnt level with the wings and may be causing it not to roll to the right properly, may help to have 2 motors on the back pointing up and out a little almosthave themabout 45° from one another. This is a pretty sweet build btw!
Thanks for doing it. I want to make a V/TOL with INAV... you show me that it is possible. The problem with the altitude is possibly to be because is raining, the amount of H2O in the atmosphere changes a lot, and the pressure for the barometer also changes... The first change in altitude is probably because of a cloud above the drone, and the second is because the amount of water was lower than when you set the altitude had more water. The compass is more complex, and the high-tension electric lines are farther away. Had that day stormed later?
and that right there is why i dont fly wings anymore. way to stressful to get it dialed in. like a squirrel...as equal as twitchy. nice test and glad it worked out but tha is nothing for me. maybe i am too old for this stuff😅
Did you figure out the control glitch during landing? I had a similar failure using the Matek M10Q-5883 GPS and FIMI flight controller with Ardupilot. I took off, and it started toilet-bowling. I managed to land, tried again and it went toilet-bowling into a tree and broke the tail motor mount. I have been working on a new tail motor mount in Tinkercad, will post of Thingverse if the test flight is successful.
hope you can find the perfect tune for this little bird! I am to lazy to learn ardupilot and I would love to use inav but having the full control of the aircraft all the times not like you video hahahaha!! the final landing was challenging
I had almost the exact same issues but thought it was just me so good to know we’re both idiots lol jk I’m with you, it’s really still beta but some folks don’t want to hear that. My opinion is it’s not safe to inav a vtol yet, maybe version 8?
I agree. I think the basic elements are in place but there's still a lot of work do be done of the firmware before it's properly usable. Either that or we're just both idiots lol
Bravo for not loosing it when it went crazy in the approach. Nicely recovered and safely landed! Nerves of steel :)
I'd double check CG . At least it flies, nice to see it's possible with INAV7.

I think I'll be sticking with Ardupilot for the foreseeable future.

Well done for not ditching it at the "landing"....lol....That was a wild ride...Maybe it would work better on the T1 Ranger..?...🤔😳😳😮😀🇬🇧

Isn’t Shota the guy who fixed the artificial horizon? Pretty sure he was involved in the VTOL algorithm too
He is the mastermind behind vtol
@@mmosca - yes he did both
what a great little plane
Good outcome. I have the x800 vtol that never really worked with ardu hoping i may be able to get it flying with inav.
Thank you for your information~
A bad calibrated compass can cause weird issues?

I crash my T1 twice like that at 9:03, so even if I were the biggest VTOL fan I would stick to normal wings/planes.
and that right there is why i dont fly wings anymore.

Could you please share diff file. Thanks

Did you use the stock FC ? If so what is the inav7 target?
Yes - thats what I want to know. I have the stock FC and as far as I know there is no iNav support - but would love to learn differently.
Yeah it's the stock FC. The target is MATEKF405TE_SD
I think it was squirrely in hover at the end because of low battery voltage.
Those high voltage power lines nearby could be causing the compass interference.
manta hype!
hi, do you think this would be okay with a 117g gimbal/cam combo?

gained a subscriber here, could i ask you to share the cli dump link?
so. you will test it with the apple vision pro? no? for goggle.
Shota is an INAV dev responsible for vtol code.
Looks like the RTH mode is set to extra?
which battery are you using?

Nah I'm good. I'd rather stick with my Ar900 and S800 for fixes wings.. cheap bullet proof and amazing..😉
