    When you engaged RTH the throttle went to 100%. That will stress an already low limo and could cause a drop sufficient enough to trigger the BEC and disarm it.
    Happy flying.

    Good video, I liked the format. Ardupilot has a flight timer, you can choose what elements to show, and where to place them on the GUI page. You can also choose which items you want to have as arming checks, in the full parameter list. One more thing, you should maybe choose a different mask for your position and altitude, I could quite easily work out where your flying spot is.

    • @gizfpv
      @gizfpv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think a airspeed sensor would be a good idea. As I said in the video, I added a 10 second time out on the transitions, due to the fact the aircraft sometimes doesn't reach the required speed if it's windy. A airspeed sensor would remove the need for that. I could probably fit one on the T1 tbf, I just don't have one to hand and can't be bothered to buy one lol

      Having an airspeed sensor will help smooth the transitions. It should transition completely once has reached achieved minimum flying speed. Ardupilot with airspeed sensor will also provide both a good ground speed and airspeed (and actual wind speed)
      See Keith's channel BonafidePirate. He has done demos for setting up. His Ardupilot OSD display setup is pretty good. It seems like you may be missing a couple elements. (like distance to home)

      I was just using stock PID's, I didn't change any. I did however disable weather vaining, and you might want to do the same if you haven't already. Wow, sounds like you've literally had the exact same problems as me. Mine was also the carbon red version. Wonder if there was a faulty batch or something? Either way I'm happy to have moved to the Tango now. The main disadvantage is it has less switches and no sliders (useful if you do pan/tilt stuff). But it's got enough switches for all my aircraft and I don't use pan/tilt, so it's all good. It defo feels like a much more solid and robust radio than the TX16. It's also so much easier to take apart and tinker with if you need too

    Nice scenic video. The freestyle narration is a next change of pace. Really seem to suit this fun flight with a general overview.
    Think the roll sharpness and loose yaw stability are just related to how the PIDs are setup for this configuration. As you have time to dig deeper, and experiment, you should be able to better tune.
    The one gotcha with VTOLs is the require 2-3x more power to hover vs. wing mode; so extra battery reserve is needed if planning a V-landing. The battery sag kicked in as descending (18:00) because of the higher amps (75% throttle).

    • @gizfpv
      @gizfpv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spartan3299 It's a great idea to test RTH at the start of every flight, I often do it, just to be sure everything is working as it should. That said though, years ago I did lose a wing because RTH failed, even though I'd already tested it. That wing was built using really cheap and nasty components though (I didn't know better back then) so I've always put the flyaway down to that. Often wonder where that wing ended up lol. Haha RTH on betaflight is just terrible. I don't know why they don't just do it properly already. Just copy and paste the code from inav. Surely that'd work? lol

    when you transition i.e click the stabalized mode. do you build up speed in qloiter mode i.e pitch forward then flick switch or is it almost stationry and transitions with forward speed? make sense

      @gizfpv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole process is automatic. When I flick the mode switch to transition from QLOITER mode to STABILIZED mode, the 2 motors tilt forward just a little bit. This is just enough to make the aircraft move forward whilst still holding it in the air. Once the aircraft has picked up enough forward speed for the wings to generate lift, the motors then automatically tilt forward all the way and the tail motor stops altogether

    Enjoyed watching that. I have the T1 as standard plane. What hd cam are you using and how is it fixed to the fin?

    • @gizfpv
      @gizfpv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a Runcam Thumb. If you look at 1:08 you'll see i professionally attached it to the fin using excessive amounts of electrical tape 🤣 It was only mounted for that one flight which is why I didn't mount it properly lol
