Yasunori Nishiki has quickly become one of my favorite composers in the industry. Octopath really proved how well he could be as a solo composer for a video game, Yugioh Master Duel showcases the variety he has to offer, and Octopath II solidified him as someone to keep an ear on. He's worked alongside other composers for a lot of different games and projects, but I can't wait to see what future games he solo composes for next. Thank you for listening to this OST!

I'm so glad I watched this. 😄 I haven't touched this game in 3 years, so this was a blast to travel back in time to when I got this game in 2020 and listening to the music again 4 years later. 👍
It was so great watching you react to the ending theme. The soundtrack for both Octopath Traveler 1 & 2 are so underrated, and it’s great seeing more and more people discover how incredible the music is. You’re the first person I’ve found anywhere to have reacted to the ending theme of the first game though, and that was truly special. Almost everyone reacts to the battle themes or just the main theme itself, but to take the time and listen to an 8 minute compilation of area themes throughout the game from your journey playing was truly special and then to wrap it in a bow by ending it with its own version of the main theme itself was something else entirely. An absolute masterpiece. I felt you so much when you stated how grateful you are to be alive and surrounded by such amazing music, and I share the sentiment 💯 thank you so much for this!
1:15:20 I’m not surprised Dan got emotional here, as Octopath Travelers music is just incredible. Yasunori Nishiki is easily one of my favourite composers of the last few years, I’m always looking forward to hearing his new projects. I can’t wait for the eventual Octopath 2 streams, as Nishiki really outdid himself with that soundtrack.
my god, going through all the pre-battle tracks is insane blue-balling XD especially having experienced them all in the game with any of the boss themes glued to the end!
All music's titled 'For (...)' were created to act as a prefix to 'Battle to the Journey's end', and blend seamless into it, regardless of when the player press the button. If you hear and analyze them from this angle, they are simply masterpieces.
I love the octopath ost and I really do hope you will react to the octopath 2 ost! Imo the octopath ost takes all the good parts from 1 and makes something even better! :)
Chat covered highlights of "For" track transitions, but I recommend this video for some tasty details; how they were inspired by a live concert and the nuance of their key transitions. th-cam.com/video/b7Zc3f8cPnU/w-d-xo.html Each of the 8 "For" tracks loops seamlessly, but can also player-controlled transition to any of 4 boss battle themes, each of which _also_ loops. There are 32 combinations and they're all beautifully done. The feat is just as spectacular in Octopath 2 as it was 5 years earlier in Octopath 1. "For Revenge" into "Decisive Battle 2" is my favourite combination.

This has probably been the best of your streams I've been a part of so far. Such a good time, especially after the Ending theme.
glad I got to catch the end of this stream. really excited for you to one day get to the octopath 2 soundtrack.
The chord progressions and modulations in Battle At Journey's End make that piece.

missed this but am very glad it got the love and respect it clearly deserves on the stream.

The piano in Daughter of the dark god low key supporting a lot of the epicness!

Gosh, please react to Octopath 2!!!
Battle III, a *normal* battle theme so good it gives Xenoblade a run for its money.
