Several years late, but thank you so much for this video. Starting my business and choosing which trailer to use and just came across this video and answered all of my questions. This was very much appreciated, so thank you!
At the beginning I was like " This guy should make more videos, he's really good"....Didn't know how much it took to make but still appreciate what you're releasing! Thanks
I've been in the pressure washing business for 30 years. I've had many different rigs, set ups, big and small business with several of the different setups at the same time. What you said is right on the money. Your current circumstance is usually the biggest factor as to which is best. At my age, being back as a sole owner operator, I would never go back to the box van I loved so much when I was in my 20s. Well said Simeon.
Another great video, you are really helping a lot of people... my take on trailers is this: I have both and must say that I prefer the enclosed even though hose maintenance is a little harder. But with that being said another disadvantage to an enclosed trailer is venting... not heat ... but the bleach. Bleach fumes are very costic, tanks have lids that vent out the top which will destroy your trailer. If you have an enclosed trailer make vents to the out side. I never leave bleach on either trailer. I mix up what I need and at the end of the day if there is any left over it is dumped out. Any bleach that gets spilled is rinsed immediately. Also every week all tanks/filters need to be rinsed out to get out the salt, calcium and other stuff that builds up,,, that stuff is bad on pumps hose reels and guns.... just my 2 cents... Thanks for the vids you have a great looking rig, one day we will have to argue over hot water verses cold water machines...,lol
FAS...great advice on venting of the bleach. At the time of me having a enclosed trailer, I didn't store bleach in my trailer. But everytime I was in there for more than enough time, that heat was obvious. Nevertheless, you added some additional information that needs to be taking into consideration when choosing a trailer. At the next UAMCC convention, we can DISCUSS Hot vs Cold water. LOL, ttyl man!
Thanks for the video although time has passed. I was wondering if you can give me a lead on setting up a system for a semi truck washing system? Looking to maybe start with a cargo van or 12 foot 1Ton small truck.
Yes either will do just fine the 5gpm machine will usually have more pressure and bc of this it will CLEAN better but the 8gpm machine will RINSE it better. If the choice is mine, I would get the 8gpm bc you’ll need the 8gpm more often. Thanks 😊
I started with a 4 gpm unit and now ready to upgrade. What one unit would you recommend upgrading to. As of now I’m just washing exterior house washing and concrete. Thank you for the videos
Hey Steven...It really depends on your setup. Are you using a buffer(water) tank? Since you already have a 4gpm I would go with at least go up to a 6-8gpm @ 3000-3500psi. Be sure to upgrade your plumbing size to at least a 1" water supply. Thanks.
Aqua Force Services thank you for the reply. I was looking at a 6 gpm hot and cold skid mounted with a 350 gallon tank. From a company called Hot and mighty out of southbend Indiana. Right now I’m working full time at General Motors with two years to go till retirement. I started 2 years ago with a 4 gpm skid system from water cannon. It is a direct drive but has more then paid for itself. The issue I’m having now is the busier I get I need something that will definitely speed things up. I only have a half ton truck with my unit in a tandem enclosed.
I see... I heard of that company(Hot & Mighty)...but if it was my money I would go with a brand that was more common. Because when it's time to get parts, you MIGHTY have an issue, lol...Thnt's just my thoughts. There is nothing wrong with a half ton truck. I use to pull with a V6 when I first started, lol.
Bro this is some SUPER solid advice man!!! But hey I'm curious, did you change the name of your channel? For some reason thought it was called aqua force pressure washing? But anyways I appreciate the very informative knowledge you provide bro! Stay blessed bro!!
Hey I bought a Ibc 250 gallon tote tank to fill with water to use my pressure washer in areas that don’t have water spickets. I hooked a garden hose from the tote tank to the pressure washer and hooked pressure hose up and wand and fired it up and I don’t think the pressure washer is getting fed enough water. How do I get the tote tank to feed the pressure washer enough water to work I don’t want to ruin my pressure washers water pump. Do I have to use a really short garden hose or do I have to buy another water pump and hook it to the ibc tote to pump water fast enough into the pressure washer??
Vincent, thanks for watching btw. The water hose that you have from the tote to the tank could be too small bc most garden hoses are only 5/8. Depending on the size of your machine, I would either go with a 3/4 or even a 1". Yes, only have enough hose from the tank to the pump...not extra long. No you DON'T need to buy another pump. You are doing great so far. I hope this helps, ttyl man!
Hey man, I have been in the cleaning for 20 years. We are in the process of building a big pressure washer trailer. We have a large open trailer, two 10 gal min general pumps, a huge blower for water recovery powered with a 95 go per line diesel. We have a 250 gal clean water tank, four high pressure deals. Just trying to figure the plan to lay out the trailer and set up a recovery.
we drained all our lines on our new hondagx690 8gpm and now it wont pump water, how do we prime it i cant find anything on you tube, would you know how to prime the pump or where the place is to put water to prime it?
Jacqueline, yes. Easily. Hook up a water line from a water source which could be from a house, turn it on, turn on the machine and let it run without the gun is better. Give it a few minutes and it will start pumping. Thanks for watching!! I hope this helps!
well that is easier said then done, the water line to the pump is not removable it is a fitting that the man who built the rig put on and its not coming off so we cant get water to it with a hose, the water comes out of tank and goes thru to the water filter and stops, well thanks tho, we love your videos. usually there is some sort of plug on a pump that you can remove to add water (at least on well pumps)
Well it was easier said than done but you didn't mention that part about the hoses not being removable, lol. But don't worry, the is a solution to referring. So just take a picture and email it to me. Thanks
we just had this built its brand new never used, we had it built in tampa and then drove home to south carolina and it was cold so we immediately drained it because we had more to build so we have never used it yet we just got our first job for tomorrow and cant get any water! I will take pics an send tomorrow. thanks how do i email you
Whats up good brother. Question is i am in the process of starting a commercial cleaning business that also offers power washing. What do you think is the best setup and what brand for 2-3 thousand.
Rodney Jones, what's up! Is thev about that you mentioned for a complete trailer setup, truck bed setup or just a pressure wash machine? What are you planning on cleaning mostly? This will help me, help you. Thanks!
Brandon, not really. Because the cost of going to a diesel vs the Honda engines...I would have to go thru/or ruin 3 Honda engines before it would equal out... Cost wise. But I do love that Diesel, but it also weighs so much more.
What kinda of help? I have the best soft washing manifold designs. I wish I would of had this when I started. It’s a game changer & Money maker!!!!. Check out my website:n aimhighpw.wixsite.com/website
personally, id get a enclosed trailer id feel “safer” leaving my stuff in one thats enclosed vs open, but also it keeps the stuff nicer longer which means more use which means more money. its really all preference, if you have a garage you can store an open trailer in everyday to protect not only the stuff on the trailer but its also protects it from the weather than get a open one, or have a garage but want the ease of mind of being on a job or getting food anything really and knowing your stuffs safe get an enclosed one,
? i hope i didn't say that...play it back bc i'd rather you hear than for me to post it....it forces others to listen as opposed to just getting the info...u feel me. but i believe i said it correctly...try again my dude and i'll respond.
Great video and will be watching our for more!!! I love you information. I will be sending you an email in the next couple of day. I am doing my research before starting my company and would love to pick you brain. If I can make a request for a video, can you do one on the chemicals that you us and mixing?
Daniel, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! And yes, one of my next videos will more than likely be on chemical down streaming and how to apply them. Please subscribe if you already have and that way full get notice of when that video is up and going, thanks again man! ttyl.
virtuosity cash , you are probably right. I just really don't think that having an enclosed trailer is a gonna stop a theif. Reason being is bc when you advertise your company name on an enclosed trailer...they know exactly what's inside and probably will want to steal the entire trailer even more. That's just my thoughts on that. It all just kinda depends on different circumstances. Ya feel me. Thanks for watching man, ttyl.
That's what i was gonna say. It wont stop a theft but if you need to run into a home depot or lowes for whatever, that will keep them parking lot thieves out.
For everything you mention is why I was going to go with the encloses to secure my equipment from would be robbers and the use of advertisment...but after seeing open trailers with the high ramp gate closed with advertisment on it and hearing frolic many who say the Big Bluffer Tanks is there advertisment and lets the clients know they have the rite equipment to do the job..Im conviced ill be getting an open trailer.will slap a sign on back of the ramp door and inuse a cargo van that will be wraped as well..
I am soooo interested in starting a pressure washing business. Single mother trying something new. I am overwhelmed with all the videos I’ve been washing.
LOL. Ok. What’s your email? I’ll shoot you an email in a bit. I’m in Texas by the way. I’m getting into the pressure washer business. Did you set all your equipment up yourself ? What is the market rate for a 1 story home and a 2 story home? -Donovan
Blah, Blah, Blah...lol...of course its based on myself, THIS IS MY TH-cam CHANNEL THAT YOU ARE WATCHING, LOL. I just went to your page a didn't see ANY CONTENT...I wonder why, lol...But anyway, my opinion is just that...my opinion...and its because I have had both enclosed and open! And just like you, I have and like the trailers also.
Several years late, but thank you so much for this video. Starting my business and choosing which trailer to use and just came across this video and answered all of my questions. This was very much appreciated, so thank you!
😂 cool…my thoughts are still the same too. I’m glad it helped.
At the beginning I was like " This guy should make more videos, he's really good"....Didn't know how much it took to make but still appreciate what you're releasing! Thanks
ASCS...lol, thanks for the compliment...Yeah, it takes times to put out quality information for newbies to understand...i'll ttyl my man!

Edward, thanks man! Great minds think alike, lol.

A lead? You mean someone to build you a setup? What state are you in and I'll look into someone close to you...thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video. Newbie with open trailer. I look forward to the next video.
Hello Fred...thanks man for watching...yes, more videos will come..please subscribe bc I'm not sure exactly when that will be...ttyl. thanks.
Sir, do you think a 5 or 6 GPM machine it’s enough to watch trailers?

What do you do when its freezing temps? You mentioned it but didn't get into how you keep equipment safe.?

But anyways I appreciate the very informative knowledge you provide bro! Stay blessed bro!!
Yes I did!
Do you have a preferred supplier for hoses and chemicals?
Kevin, no I don't. I just shop local. I don't bother with getting things shipped.
Thank you. I'm trying to get things geared up to start my business. Looking for a quality hose that doesn't cost my first born.
I feel ya. Research a hose repair company in your area...fyi, quality is usually not very cheap!

Aqua Force Services 2800 psi 3gpm
ok...then honestly 5/8 will be fine bc your pump isn't demanding that much water. So, just have enough length from tote to the tank...nothing extra.

Griff...thanks man...yeah, I'm glad you feel me, lol, ttyl my dude.

Aqua Force Services no, in Ct. didn't u say aquaforceservices@yahoo.com? I sent it 2 hours ago

Enclosed trailer is also nice cause you can lock everything up safe and sound.
ghost rider.... Very true!!
No one mentioned anything about theft of having an Open vs. Enclosed Trailer or Van.
virtuosity cash , you are probably right. I just really don't think that having an enclosed trailer is a gonna stop a theif. Chris...you are right about that...thanks man!
All you need to do is rig an electric fence unit to the tongue of the trailer and if someone tries to hook up it will light them up real quick 😉
Matt, nice idea man!!!
Right!!! I had them both and love the open trailers so much better. But, that's just my opinion. 😁😁😁
R u still in the pressure washing business
Yes sir…Going on 21 years!
great information man. It is appreciated
Moose..thanks man!
Good points made in the video.
