  • How To Bid Pressure Washing Jobs for Residential
Here are two things you need to know to bid or quote residential pressure washing.
    1. Know your cost
How much is you business insurance, equipment cost, gas, vehicle and equipment maintenance, employees and marketing cost.
    2. How many hours on average is it taking you to do the services?
When we first started out our goal was $200 an hour for pressure washing.
Here is a video how to price roof cleaning

When I started last summer I was only planning on doing it as a side hustle to earn money to put toward paying the mortgage off early. I charged $200 for my first 2 story. I have a job Saturday on the same street on a smaller 2 story and I quoted $337 for the price and got the job. He wanted some flat work and a small deck cleaned as well which brought the price up to $557. I've learned a lot on how to sell myself and make them understand the value and advantages they get by hiring me and they have no problem paying much higher rates than what I was asking less than a year ago.

I sold my equipment in the last month due to having a baby. My question is... I have 25+ signs and thinking about starting up again in a few mo.after buying a small truck. But wanting to start small and do residential only. Minimal start as in 4gpm 4200psi Simpson from big box store, chemical injector, 15” surface cleaner, pump up sprayer for stronger applications, 50 to 100 ft pressure wash hose 100 to 150 of water hose. No hose reels or buffer tank till next year. Pretty much thought process of start out small, not much overhead and grow The customer/business side. What’s your thoughts on that sir? I jumped in to quick and at the wrong time last year. But I want to do it right, sustain better systems but keep everything simple and no stress. When I have a good customer base then buy better equipment setup nicely like yours.

2shots_Assured I like your thinking on getting customers. Lot of people we spend 10k and not have one customer and won't spend $1 on marketing.
I would rather spend 8k on marketing and 2k on equipment.
So starting small and getting customers is very smart

When you say square footage do you mean square footage of the floor plan? Or are you referring to the square footage of the siding, (length x height). I am mainly a painter contractor. And when I calculate for square footage- for spraying I calculate per square foot of surface to be painted. (Because there can be many, many more walls inside of a house adding so much more square footage)
Is it the same way for pressure washing price to square foot. Calculating square footage four surfaces to be pressure-washed?

    • @chadguidry8767

Are you washing the inside of the home? No, so ofcourse you’re gonna use the home’s exterior square footage. Unless you wanna lose out on money
