    I removed 4.5 litres from my Passat in 20 minutes. A few pumps every few minutes. Great product definitely worth the money. Thanks for the video.

    I literally just used this to change the oil in my Chevy. I am a complete novice when it comes to mechanics. Normally the car would go to the garage but as we're on lockdown and I'm out of work, needs must.
    I found this video helpful and overall I found the extractor a dream to use.
    I will not be attempting the filters but for now, this'll do. Great video, great tool.

    I bought this Pela to change the oil on my sailboat, there is no access to the drain plug.
    Subsequently bought a Subaru Impreza - the oil filter is mounted on top of the engine and very easy to replace. So I tried the Pela on the Subaru and it worked perfectly to extract the oil.
    Make sure the oil is totally warmed up and it comes out quickly. Between my cars and boat, I have done over 30 oil extractions/changes with no issues.

    I love mine, I sometimes use a shop-vac instead of the hand pump,.....AND, it's great for bleeding brakes as well.......You can always use a short length of brake or fuel line and a shorter clear hose to make it more compact......John (west coast, Can.)...

    Great review! I have the same one and love it, the best quality extractor on the market in my opinion.

      Yes for the price you can't beat it! Works great for small engines, the ATV took a bit longer but it still got the job done!

    I made one out of a compressor from a dehumidifier, some hose and a plastic jug. It works great.It cost me nothing.

    Great review, If you increase the size of the suction line you would speed up extraction of the oil. Maybe make up an adaptor of some kind. You could take off the last section of line and extend the larger tubing.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but using thicker line would also make it trickier to get into hard to reach spots, like fishing it through that atv bottom end.
      However, for something like a lawnmower or snowblower, this would be acceptable!

    As zmanvideo1 said it is a great review video and especially liked the lay back "just another hard day at the office" part. A little humour goes a long way in making a bad day brighter especially when your working on equipment that has never seen any maintenance and bolts are seized or breaking when your doing your tear down. Nice to see a little laughter in this video suggest you do some more of the same in future videos thought it was pretty cool dude!

    each raised plastic horizontal line represents one liter FYI. ;)

      Yeah that's why I said it should've been just over half which would've been about 3.5L
      But it had a head gasket leak so there was actually less than 3.5L

    If i have 10.5L of oil to extract, would I be able to use this... Just break it up into 2 extractions?

    Well it's April 2022, are you still using this and if so how is it working??? If you replaced it then with what??

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes works well, the hose in between the big and small step down part leaked so we taped it. Been using it for years, awesome tool to have for these new machines that don't have drain plug

    I had no idea this pump was so slow. I've been at it for an hour and extracted 1.5 L only.

      Gotta get it real hot, it works great for lawnmowers, they usually have anywhere from 0.5L-2L

      Hazardous waste drop off, google search to see where your local is, or call your city hall.

    Before I even used my Pela 6000 for the first time the rubber tube disintegrated as well as the cap used for extraction. It's basically useless now.

    I have the bigger one for the car. I don't mind it taking a bit longer if I don't have to crawl under the car.

    fyi the engine needs to be warmed up and then it comes out like water .very quick fyi

      I actually ran that ATV for like 20mins before I pumped it out, it just hadn't been changed in so long, that why it took so long.
      Once I got to the snowblower, it came out in less than a minute!

    I've had this Topsider extractor for 15+ years and it works great. www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_390306_390306 I like the low profile metal can (very stable) that holds two gallons. The suction hose is large diameter so it can really work fast. If the dipstick hole is smaller, I stick a piece of stiff nylon tube inside of the larger vinyl hose. As others have stated, warming up the engine prior to extraction helps to speed up the process, plus it does a more thorough job if there is no oil filter on the engine (contaminants will be suspended).
