There was a hose (vacuum or breather?) that attached to the stock intake manifold on the brass connection that didn't seem to have a spot on the new Koso Intake. Did you run into the same problem? What did you do with that hose?
This exhaust is slightly restrictive for the Koso 170cc 4v due to the fact the exhaust inlet hole is so much smaller than the Koso Exhaust outlet on the head, bottle necks really badly. Maxed this exhaust at 21.5 whp. Switched the exhaust to Brocks and made 26whp although lost some bottom end due to the brocks not having that loop system. Love the look though.
Nut-drivers make tightening hose clamps delightful : ) In shop I worked, we were forbidden from using silicone spray because it's so fish-eye bad for anything that's painted. For hoses, we often used a bit soap, or soak the hose in a bit of hot water, to soften it.
At 2:51 hes got the valve in backwards. The spring side should be pointed towrard the sensor. Small end with the rubber needs to be pointed towards the throttle body
I have seen on TH-cam a kid racing his PW80 and it looks as fast as a YZ80 ,I bought my daughter a brand new (2004 at the time) still have it MINT ,put on FULL FMF, The X-TENDER rear lift Bush from America new bars etc but even though I've opened up airbox, played with jets and had full exhaust it'll NOT REV out like others I've seen. So i know MANY people who would LOVE to know how to get these brilliant little 2 strokes to REV OUT ,JEEZ MY PETROL STRIMMER REVS HARDER (ANY IDEAS) Loved this as I'm thinking of getting a Grom thanks SCOOBS UK.
I know this is an old video. but do we really need the "air box"? Isn't there and K&N filter that will clamp right onto the throttle body intake then we can just discard or store the air box somewhere for later or never?
hi john talley i have a question for you i have a 2017 honda grom and it was running fine but yesterday it was going working right. it was losing power like i was giving some throttle and it wasnt going fast it got me home. it turns on but when you give it some throttle it doesnt responded. i change the spark plug and put new gas in it. what do you think its wrong with it so i can get it back working right again. thanks

Every now and then when kick around another mod. We've done a Grom, we're adding a turbo on a YXZ1000 now, and we're always looking for another project. We'll add this to the bucket list.
I've been a mechanic for more than 35 years, It's really nice to watch your videos. You demonstrate a great working knowledge and name components as you work on them..great work. I've just bought a grom and have been watching videos . 90 percent of them don't really display a comprehensive knowledge of what they work on.. Keep up the good work. cheers from rocket in Australia
Isn't the the internal part of the idle control valve on backwards? The seat set part is backwards. Looking at the diagram from Koso shows the nipple facing into the throttle body.
Get a fairly standard single or twin bike from the 1960s/1970s era and modernise it. Is fuel injection possible and disc brake front wheel, what suspension improvements are possible.
in thailand we call this bike MSX125 your exhaust yoshimura so nice and i want to make my bike like this....... but i don't have enough money to buy any item like this :(

Please compare after this upgrade, but with stock muffler vs aftermarket. I still wanna use stock muffler.
