    Did you ever resolve this? I have 2018 Vivaro doing the same thing. Its a taxi and did it during its Hackney Test/MOT. It failed and cost me around £800 for a new EGR cooler. A thousand miles on its doing it again.

      In mine case it was bad seal from exhaust collector to turbo. During DPF filter regeneration, when system heats the filter canister the smoke and heat escapes through the bad seal instead of going to the filter canister and later escaping at the rear exhaust pipe. During diesel DPF regeneration excessive smoke is expected and normal. The problem was that it was escaping from under the bonnet, instead of exhaust pipe at the rear.

      @@Mr.Laidukas You are a gem, had the Vivaro back in the garage with your possible diagnosis. Turns out I had a small leak in exactly the same place you identified. Thanks so much mine is a taxi an all the time off the road is money I cannot earn. If I can help likewise message me.

      @@Mr.Laidukas diesels get clogged up and broken if you just drive them in city. Diesel cars are better for highway. If you drive at city go at least every 2-3 weeks on highway

    Hi guys I have the same problem with my car Nissan Qashqai 2012 1.5 diesel..
    Also my car suddenly loses power for a couple of seconds after I start the car and try to go it’s like its struggle to go but gets a boast of power couple of seconds after would this be cause of the dpf also

      DPF is blocked. It needs a forced regen. Workshops can do this. Try to let the car become warm and drive it with very high revs before. But you need a regen

    not to mention having to drive for 30 miles at 3000rpm the clean out soot .Total shite

  • @rajindernijjer
    @rajindernijjer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mines 2020 Kia Sportage and done this after 240 miles called rac out and they said it's normal. When I use cruise control it does this and when I put my foot down it doesnt. What's point of having eco car if you have to floor it everywhere?

    • @songoku7915
      @songoku7915 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need to floor it to burn the soot.

    • @rajindernijjer
      @rajindernijjer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@songoku7915 so what you can burn the soot driving at 40mph? I know for a fact you can't because I have about 50 people asking me why there car is clogged up and when I can how do you drive they all say economically.

    • @songoku7915
      @songoku7915 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rajindernijjer the soot gets burned only during active regeneration when the car injects extra fuel to the dpf to raise its' temperature 🌡️ and believe me it gets done up to 600°C even if you drive at 40mph at 1800 rpm. If you floor it all the time the only thing you can achieve is produce more soot that gets trapped by your DPF.

    • @rajindernijjer
      @rajindernijjer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@songoku7915 dumbass I have a lease car when I ordered the car they told me people's dpf had clogged up because they hadn't driven the car long enough. There's tons forerooms about it and videos. There's even a light on the car which tells you your dpf is blocked and the only way to get it turned off is a high rpm. When you take your car to the dealers for a glogged dpf that's how they clear it. The car will never do a proper regen at 1800rpm.

    • @songoku7915
      @songoku7915 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rajindernijjer you are absolutely wrong and dumbass. You don't know the basics how a DPF works. The light is because you interrupted some active regenerations. The last 2 years i live in a Greek small island (where you reach at best top speed of 65km/h) and i never had a light. I just know when my DPF regenerates (idle 950rpm instead of 770rpm / increased instant consumption) so i never switch off my engine when DPF regenerates. I just continue driving for 15-17 mins in about 1800-2500 rpm (max) and it cleans itself. I also use the right low-SAPS oil as the manual proposes. Next time you should do better research 😂

      Hi, I fixed it :) In my case exhaust pipe that mounts on the turbo exit was only partially fitted and had no sealing ring. After they installed sealing ring and seated pipe fully on the turbo everything stopped. No exhaust gases smell in the interior and no excessive smoke from engine compartment during regeneration.

      DPF filter regeneration started, smoke should go at the end through the pipe, but due to a malfunction it goes under the bonnet. This is my theory at the moment, but not necessarily the trough. When I go on the motorway with high RPM as you must do during filter regeneration everything is OK.
