    Dose head' hair could effects the reading?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hair can potentially affect an EEG (Electroencephalogram) recording. The EEG measures electrical activity in the brain, and hair can act as an impediment, especially if it's long, thick, or greasy. To get accurate EEG readings, it's common practice to prepare the scalp by cleaning and, in some cases, shaving small areas to ensure good electrode-to-skin contact. This minimizes interference from hair and ensures the electrodes can pick up brain signals effectively. However, modern EEG equipment is designed to minimize the impact of hair, and some systems use specialized caps or nets to hold the electrodes in place, allowing for better signal acquisition even with hair present.

    Can this be used to determine if someone will have Dementia or Alzheimer's?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it's possible but this test alone can't give you the conclusive answer

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, an EEG (electroencephalogram) alone cannot definitively determine Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. EEG is a diagnostic tool used to measure and record the electrical activity of the brain. While EEG findings can provide valuable information about brain function and help in diagnosing certain neurological conditions, it is not specific enough to be used as the sole method for diagnosing Alzheimer's or Parkinson's.
      Diagnosing Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease typically requires a comprehensive evaluation that includes a combination of various clinical assessments, medical history, physical examinations, and, in some cases, imaging studies and laboratory tests. The diagnostic process may involve:
      1. Medical History: Gathering information about the individual's symptoms, their progression, and any relevant medical history.
      2. Physical Examination: A thorough neurological examination to assess motor function, reflexes, balance, and other neurological signs.
      3. Cognitive Testing: Specific cognitive tests to evaluate memory, attention, language, and other cognitive functions.
      4. Imaging Studies: Brain imaging techniques like MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) or PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans can provide valuable information about brain structure and function.
      5. Laboratory Tests: Blood tests may be performed to rule out other conditions with similar symptoms and to assess factors that could contribute to cognitive decline.
      6. Clinical Criteria: Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease often follows established clinical criteria, such as those provided by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association for Alzheimer's disease or the criteria developed by the Parkinson's Disease Society for Parkinson's disease.
      While EEG may be helpful in certain cases, it is usually used to support the diagnosis and monitor the progression of these diseases, rather than being the primary diagnostic tool. The definitive diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease requires a comprehensive evaluation by qualified healthcare professionals. If you or someone you know is experiencing cognitive or motor symptoms, it's essential to seek medical evaluation to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate care and management.

    Sir it would be more beneficial if you could please explain how are we going to interpret like in this case depression or anxiety or any other disorder this type of brain wave will be formed and what is the abnormal part in this wave.
    Or if you have already made such kind of vedio of this then please attach the link of that vedio

    Microvolts is uV not mV

  • @Petros-vd2zr
    @Petros-vd2zr 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Just a minor mistake of yours. Microvolts are not mV but μV.
    mV = mili Volt (10^-3),
    μV = micro Volt (10^-6).

    Does the eeg device show some abnormarlities in the nervous system? I think I might have a disorder (I get myocloni sometimes). So, do you know will the eeg show some results even if I do not get myoclonic jerks during the exam?
