      "Rich doctors"
Not all doctors resort to private practice
But all private practitioners resort to these means.
The issue is in private economy.
      Health should be nationalised.
This gentleman should also be asked, who reads his published medical papers,he is neither a doctor nor a pharmacologist.
      Who funds him ?
      A simple question.

I appreciate your courage in addressing a complex topic that nobody else could ever have, by fairly mentioning both the negative and the positive aspects of the pharmaceutical industry in our country. 10 years I was offered a sales manager job by a huge pharma. During my interview I saw the sales head giving Samsung smartphone to sales rep and that was going to a doctor as bribe. My job was to manage a team of sales reps and a fixed budget to bribe doctors. I was instructed to do anything to lure in doctors. I questioned the practice and efficacy of their medicine and was given a shut up call I called the quit on first day. BTW they have the largest market share in Diabetics and heart medicine.

i being a young doctor and being the son of a doctor myself can't bring my self to compromise the profession and im not an odd man out most doctor are not the ones who take bribes but some black sheep exist in every field
this is not to say doctor cannot have good relations with pharma reps but it needs to be ethical if we look at foreign countries like US or UK they too have rules around gifting from pharma companies and to what extent doctors can keep a favor with them
generally if a pharma company approaches a doctor to write a medicine and the doctor writes that medicine anyway then the relationship is to compromised because the doctor is not compromising his relationship with the patient and acting in beneficence.
if a doctor is conducting a seminar and needs a sponsor pharma companies can sponsor the seminar and put up their stalls and representative to give demonstrations on new drugs in the market but cant extract direct financial favors this is a gray area
both fields are symbiotic with each other so you shouldn't be pitting them against each other but ofc there should be limit on what the pharma companies should offer and what companies accept

    • @AwwamDost
      @AwwamDost 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

All private practitioners are into this.
Those doctors who dont want to do malpractice never do private practice.
You said,"some small number of black sheeps",
The fact is there are only a few "white sheeps" amongst doctors now.
      Pharma,generally is a private buisness,its essentially corrupt.

Our doctors and pharma, are as many years behind than the developed world,as Pakistan itself, and its all other sectors.
    Say,50-100 years.
But it can be corrected very swiftly,if the owners of this unfortunate land want.
The tragedy is,they dont need to prosper and improve Pakistan.
They want to maintain status quo.

yeh jo sir nay baat kardi about free healthcare he is not only wrong but shockingly wrong
UK has a free need based healthcare system for all; need based ka matlab koi bhi bemaar hay usska ilaaj muft ho ga chahay barhay say barha operation ho ya sirf mamooli zukam
pakistan invests 2pc in healthcare and expects the result of US UK level of healthcare who spend 20 25 PC of their budgets on healthcare.
sehat card should be for all from age 0 to 26 and from 60+ or any age with a life time disability the biggest issue with sehat card is the reliance on state life insurance only. it should be multiple insurance companies and health ka premium should be deducted from salary every month. all those age 26 to 60 must pay for their own insurance premium every month like 1000 2000 rs and be covered. the government will provide the same coverage for those 60+, the disabled and children. this is the model in US

India has the same "pharma tourism" problem. Fully sponsored trips, 'research papers' submission 😂, and even direct cash commissions to quacks who 'prescribe' allopathic drugs. It is a cartel.
But by far the worst offender in this regard is United States, where they push prescription opioids, one of the most addictive substances known to man *and that too* in very risky high doses 60,80,100 mg ( forcibly pushed thru US FDA by pharma lobby ) in exchange for "perquisites" and "entertainment".
