      I'm glad to hear it! I like doing these videos (though they're a bit harder on my pocketbook than just coin roll hunting!).

    Nice pick-ups. Some of those shiny 1960-67 coins look like they were broken out of mint sets.
    You said $8 face of half dollars. I think you meant $4 face.

    I must of missed that sale 😆. it's like $2.50 more on the dollar face since I last bought. Nice lot of coins.

    Nice acquisitions. The only thing I don’t like about some of the later Canadian stuff is that they look too proof-like for my taste.

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The RCM has always had a reputation for quality, and I think you're right that it does translate to circulation strikes bearing a proof-like quality.

    Nice silver haul!! You probably got in on time when silver was in the mid-$20s an ounce... It's at $31 now - if it hits $35 or higher, I'll probably sell some of my uglier silver that I found coin roll hunting...

    Was that purchase from a few weeks back ? The coin shops near me have Canadian 80 percent going for over 21x face with silver now over $32 CAD. I've basically made up the premium and the sales tax l paid on the stuff l bought in the summer.

    How do I go about buying junk silver when there is no dealers anywhere near? (Joy of rural life in Canada) And how do I know about what the current $x = $ Facevalue? Yes I'm a newbie at silver coins.

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries! Honestly, the only way I'd buy junk silver would be in person at a dealer. I don't think I'd trust anything online. Road trip?! To determine the conversaion for $face, I think is just a calculation based on the spot price of the metal. I'd have to google the formula to figure out how to calculate it!

    • @PaleFirehorse
      @PaleFirehorse ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CADRollHunter thanks for the reply. Appreciated. I agree, online purchase of stuff like that is a beast and probably isn't worth it. Especially if I know nothing about a certain dealer in advance. Like I've said, that's the downside of living rural, very rural. =D Let me know where I can find that formula for the calculation, would be interesting. Thanks.

    I finally got my first box of dimes to search, after I'm done searching do I reroll them or is there a machine that counts the coins?

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my area I have to re-roll them to return them. I haven't come across a bank yet that has a machine to dump them in like many of the American banks do, but there might be some out there.

    What is junk silver

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Junk silver just refers to silver bullion in coin form. Typically circulated coins that don't have significant numismatic value beyone the value of their silver content (bullion value). However, you can sometimes find lower mintage coins or varieties. So, you only pay based on the going price of silver.
