    Where Do you get all that silver? And do you have any tips to find old banknote? I am from Québec and I watch all your videos!

      @CADRollHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for watching - I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! I just get them from a local coin shop that buys and sells a lot of silver, gold, etc.

    Junk silver or not, those Canadian coins are beautiful. Like the designs of One Dollar coins. Thanks for sharing more knowledge.

  • @Showzstarz

    Isn't the 66 one referred to as a specimen?

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question. Coins destined for collector sets were considered "Proof-Like." The Charlton Guide does list pricing for SP-63 and SP-65, but I'm not actually aware of a 'Specimen' finish or what would differentiate a 'Specimen' coin from a proof-like.

    • @Showzstarz
      @Showzstarz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CADRollHunter Ooh I think that finish where the object/portrait blends in instead of being frosted is what separates them because even ware doesn't completely remove the frosting. But I could be wrong.

    junk silver IS JUNK. LCS's will always pay spot for it, but if you want to buy it than its 12-14x Face.
    Enjoy

      That's great! Unfortunately silver has gotten expensive recently. I might wait a bit to see if the price comes down before I buy another lot.

    I went to Montreal from my home in Minnesota in 1967 to celebrate Expo 67 coinciding with the centennial. Only recently have I been buying gold and silver and I was getting bored so I asked my LCS for any foreign chunky silver and specifically asked for the Canadian silver dollar with the goose. I bought an XF toned one for $13 and 4 BU capsule 1964 Charlottetowns for $14 each. I really cherish them. I've often heard that Canadians don't appreciate their junk silver much.

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      I for sure love my Canadian silver. I might have to wait a bit until the prices come down before I make another big purchase, though!

    Some of those coins are absolutely beautiful. Even that 1939 toned dollar is not too shabby.

    Where can you find junk sliver like this, as a teen on a budget. This seems like a good way of getting some really cool coins at a lower price compared to buying it directly for another collector

    • @CADRollHunter
      @CADRollHunter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure - some older coins are very much out of reach financially for a lot of people (myself included) when they're in higher grades. But the same coin in a lower grade could be considered 'junk' silver. Many coin shops will buy and sell silver coins based on their bullion value. Just ask and see. Good lucki!
