I'm a dyed in the wool "Ego guy". I have been since I bought my first tool on ebay years ago before any Ego stuff was sold at the Big Box stores. I bought a Ego mower which has never failed no matter what I've tossed at it. I quickly accumulated every tool and sold all my gas stuff. Words fail me, there are no adulations that fit how highly I think of these outstanding products. They are worth every penny.

I'm all in on EGO since 2017. Mowers, chainsaw, string trimmer, inverter, blower, hedge trimmer. Ego has replaced a conked 4aH battery with a 5aH replacement and a few mower parts. My guy cleaned it with the hose {I learned after] until mower quit. We dried it out and worked as before. I sold it later and upgraded to bigger mower. Interchangeable fast charging batteries for all tools has me locked on.

I have the Ego string trimmer with the 2.5AH battery. I barely run down the battery around the house. I bought an Ego blower which came with a 5AH battery. Having interchangeable batteries went into my decision. The string trimmer isn't used hard during leaf blowing season. While I have no idea how long it needs to be running to do leaves in the worst conditions, having a 2nd battery for leaf season should be no problem. The 2.5AH 2nd battery will give me 50% more run time.

I got the new 615 cfm blower because I needed something portable as a truck driver to clean the inside of the trailer after or before I get loaded. At first I was looking for anything cheap but as I researched I decided to get something I can rely on and at the same time when I go home I can use it after mowing my lawn. It's kinda too big but I don't think the little ones will do it as fast as this 615 cfm. At the shipping receiving they'll lend us theirs and it's usually a Milwaukee with two batteries attached but I usually have to blow trailer 2 or 3 times and even with 2 batteries it starts running out. This ego with 1 battery 2.5 is faster cleans trailer better and I only have to blow trailer 1 time and second rarely just because and I'll still have 3/4 left sometimes still full. Feels good knowing my trailer is super clean without any hard Sweeping and knowing they'll load me without questions.

Blowing leaves will be a harder test. I have used my friends Ego (lower cost one) and it is typically necessary to keep it on Turbo boost. The battery lasts about 15 minutes. Certainly not long enough if you have lots of trees and live where there is true fall weather. Also, heavier leaves are harder to move (i.e. oak trees) and typically do not decay rapidly (like elm and maple). One can buy a corded leaf blower for less than $75 USD that will not loose power like a battery does. Of course, there is the inconvenience of a cord and the cost of a cord, but not certain it’s worth spending $200 or $300 on a battery powered blower.

Which battery did the blower have? This unit comes with a 5AH battery. I believe the smaller one has a 2.5AH battery.

This is a fantastic review. As far as EGO products go, I have a small yard in a residential neighborhood (house sits on 0.33 acre lot) and I have found that their products work for my use case. If I had more than a half acre or so I would probably lean more towards gas, but their products are enough for my needs. I currently have the Select Cut lawn mower, the two stage snowblower, the weed whacker, and now based on your review will likely purchase the leaf blower.

Yes its worth the money..I have the 2 stage snowblower the 650cfm and the 765cfm leaf blowers so I have 2x 5 AH and 2x 7.5aH batteries..I have about 20 huge maple trees..I use both blowers at the same time..I can almost blow the paint off your car. The 329$ 765cfm blower comes with a 5ah , charger and strap.. they will blow wet leaves anywhere you want... the snowblower is great too.. I'm hammer down with turbo about 15 min on the 5ah batteries. The 650 is pretty much a strong as the 765 and is on sale with the 5ah battery and charger (no strap 35$) for 249$ until November 2 2022@ lowes

I have this blower and several other EGO tools. Normally I would not have paid this much for a blower, as I rarely use it, but once I got an EGO mower with a super fast charger, it became very convenient to have all my power lawn tools in the same family. I didn't pay list, but I can't remember what I did pay. The mower was a great deal at $407 for a 21in self propelled with 7.5ah battery. It should be noted that warranty service is not convenient. My mower has a problem with the variable speed and mostly runs on high. To get it fixed I need to take it to a service site, which ships it back to EGO for repair. They estimated that it would take about 6 weeks. Since the mower works, and I don't want to give it up for 6-week, I mow on the fastest speed most of the time. Occasionally the speed control works, and likely if I sent it back it would work that once, and it would be returned unfixed. For the most part I am satisfied with EGO products, but regular price is too high.

Ego has an initial sticker shock when you buy your first tool. That is because you are getting a $200 battery and a $100 charger with your kit.
I always recommend starting out with a big tool (mower or snow blower) that comes with a 7.5ah batt and then picking up add on tools.
Once you have an ego now you can get a bare tool string trimmer for much less money as all ego tools will run on tne same battery.

Have you tried using the 7.5 amp battery on a trimmer or blower? Seems like it would make the hand helds pretty heavy

    • @thebigdoghimself
      @thebigdoghimself 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@edwardwoods2758 yes, no problem on the blower, in fact I just had a 10ah battery on my blower last week for spring clean up.
On the trimmer, I try to not go above 5ah, however I do have the backpack battery adapter and I like it, especially if I am edging with my powerhead and edger attachment.
The backpack adapter is kinda a pain to store and takes a second to put on, so I generally prefer to use 2 or 3 smaller batteries vs putting on the backpack and putting a 7.5 or 10ah battery in it. However, if you are trimming up more than 1/2 acre than the backpack may be a good accessory to own.

Doesn't add up to me. Those batteries don't last forever, unless there is warranty I'm not aware of. Can't see spending $200 every few years just so my tools all still work. Sounds like a subscription to me.

Hi there, great video! I just dove into a Stihl battery Komimotor along with the string trimmer and edger attachments. I want anew Battery mower and blower and think i'm going with EGO on that front. I don't have a lot of property (under 1/4 acre) so I should be okay with a battery powered mower. I just hope both hold up and are as good as some of the videos say they are and not as lousy as others post. Considering the self propelled mower and 650 blower, I see it is sold asa kit. I know, 2 different battery platforms but that doesn't me.

I have Ego lawnmower, snowblower, blower, weed eater, multi-tool with edger and trimmer attachments. I have the first gen on most of these. The lawnmower, again first gen, could use more power and more importantly MORE SUCTION. I’m not sure if the newer dual blade would fix this but it is extremely expensive. Next, the snowblower in its 1st gen was not self-propelled. The new version is 2-stage and self-propelled but again extremely expensive. I’m invested in the eGo ecosystem so I will probably get the newer versions but it would be nice to hear from someone if they are worth the $$

Luckily I found a great deal when Home Depot was getting rid of all their stuff and got it for $150. After 1 year I’m already having some issues with the battery too. Love Ego products, but I only buy them on sale. MSRP for most items is way too high
