Hi Kevin, what I like about your video is options and then after looking at the options I usually take the path with the fewest steps. I am always converting a picture of text to text and have for a long time. I also like removing the number of steps it takes to do get the job done. Thank you for this video!

    ShareX vs OneNote
I tried both ShareX and OneNote. I used screen shots (jpgs) of scanned old book pages. The number of errors in ShareX was very significant. However the accuracy of OCR in One Note was commendable. The only mistakes were sometimes capital "We" instead of "we", or "VVho" instead of "Who" and "1" instead of "]" or "(" instead of "[" or ")" instead of "]". I didn't try any other programs. I wish One had the nice feature of ShareX called "one line" to get rid of carriage returns. Maybe there is a macro I can find to automatically remove them.
Thanks, Kevin, for posting this great video. I always love your videos.

Thank you for the tips, young man! I personally like the PowerToys method, as from the dawn of MS-DOS 6.22 I am used with a keyboard, and lately mIRC, iCQ, and all the fun with being a good chatter, I am using a lot of the keyboard to speed up my work and this method is very close to me (congrats for Ctrl+Win+T - kind of discovering hot water - I use it also a lot). The round about with photo-2-PDF-importing to WORD is a working solution too. So one way or another, as my friend John says.. Keep walking...

Thanks a lot for this very useful video, Mr. Kevin Stratvert!
Really a very novel tool to extract the text embedded over the images. Especially, while seeing a video with sub titles that are something rare, like Manthras, Slogan, Quotes, Proverb etc, this tool comes in very handy. I use some OCR software but they are a bit tedious to maintain.
    Congratulations!

Omfg thank you! The google docs method saved me.
Another tip I found handy was to use MS paint/photoshop/any editing software to remove or block out text you DON'T want copied. In my case it was photos of typed text on top of other papers that had a few words off to the side so I went into MS Paint and cropped out and painted over those loose words.

This is great! But i just wished there was a platform that did much more, like Google translate does let you help providing better translations, it would be cool to have a this type of technology be used for video games with weird ass fonts, that then would be analized through a image to text app, corrected by you if needed, and theeeeen translated, and even be capable of correcting the translation if needed. Imagine a world like that 🙏

For a Turkish+Arabic (mixed) PDF document, Google Drive has yielded the best results amongst all other solutions for me (the rest all seem to use Microsoft's OCR technology so they all returned pretty much the same result anyways). There were significantly less conversion errors in Google Drive and it required no setup which is a nice plus.
