Your TH-cam channel is awesome you're playing is so different and some of the lick lessons from some of these awesome guitarists I've never heard of are so well done. It would be awesome if you could do some blues artists like you did with Joe Bonamassa maybe Simon McBride or Scott Mckeon?

i've been having a go at country of late. what i've been doing is playing over a G7 &c the (g)V7, vii7 (m3 b5 b7) and ii7 (occasionaly the IVmaj7) . it sounds ok, but doesn't 'sing' iyswim. it sounds to much like a text book exercise). looks like i need to play around and slide or hammer or whatever on to some of the harmonized chords, or do i mean extensions, to sing out and mix things up as i'm playing over the chord.
That's great and thanks for chiming in here. You can also hear/find a lot of country (and jazz) players using partial chords and implied chords. Where they're signaling an A7 (or something fancier like an A13), but they may only be hitting 2-3 notes from the chord and let the bass and other instruments fill up the sound/chord. If the chords you're hitting sound too "regular" or "stock," trying removing a few notes to see if it gives you a more "authentic" sound. Once you get away from basic chords and power chords, things can get complicated with chords REALLY fast. Good luck and may the Force be with you...always.
