You are an excellent example of the musician family member. Pass the torch and help people of the world of music. Thanks brother. I've been playing for 46+ years and a serious musician knows you will never know everything and how wonderful that you won't ever get bored. Only constant joy and gratitude, not to mention the health rewards for the mawbles, lol. Keep up your awesomeness. Stay groovy.
So many amazing, useful teachings you shared with us in a so clear way, you channel is a continuous masterclass so well explained and produced, a real pleasure to follow you, very much appreciated!
I had to go over the video 2 or 3 times before it sunk in then it finally hit. Very melodic lines which is what I am trying to do. Great lesson and the theory has sunk in too. Thank you.
Thx 4 sharing this few on modes. I dont get all but i repeat it. Your channel is totaly underratet for the skills u share. U opend another door for me. Thank you so much!
Hi Rob ! Great lesson again. Beware @ 5:38, the C on the 2nd string is at the wrong place and at 14:47, there is a B in place of the C, still on the 2nd string. Malediction ;o). It took me a while to realise.... (+ keeping "minor" typed in the major chord section ... It must have been a hard day... ^^). Outstanding content anyway!
8:38 E is Major 3rd of C, not minor. And 11:50 even if the title is Minor over Minor is actually Major over Major. In case for someone that was confusing. But the video is very cool, keep it up man.
Man i'm so glad that you decided to do youtube at some point in your life. I discovered your lessons sometime last week after years of playing. You're working at a way higher level of detail and clarity than most instructors on youtube. This is the kind of content you dont see a lot of for free! Thanks so much! Do you offer online courses to enroll in btw? I'd be very interested.
m@n you're a freakin awesome teacher N tasteful playa 🙏 you've made this esoteric harmonic technic so crystal clear 💎 you'll be ruining all other specialized platforms ...not to mention any 🤣
Not really superimposing here. In the first case of E aeolian over CMaj you are just playing lydian basically... If you really want to superimpose chords, it will be with more dissonant and outside options, aplying other concepts. Ex: CMaj over EMaj, Cm over Dbm, C melodic minor over B7, Gmaj7#11 over Cmaj7#11 Etc...
Can't say I agree Josele. Well partially :) Maybe you have a point with the Em scale over Cmaj, but that is not the subject of the video. Superimposing just means layering two items that result in a new entity keeping their initial meaning. In music that would be layering two chords that are somehow related. So Em over C major for instance are related by common notes. Or the Em pentatonic sale over the Am chord resulting in extension (9 and 11). This creates colour tones. Your examples are also superimpositions, but also something else. C over E will clash and is much more used as a linear mediant relationship. Cm over Dbm is much more a dissonant polytonality and C melodic minor over B7 is just the 7th mode of the melodic minor scale: the altered or super locrian scale. Gmaj#11 over Cmaj#11 will sound better without the clash of C# and C (depends on how much outside you want to go of course, although outside playing can be done in many ways). Gmaj7 over C without the #11th's (like in my video) creates a beuatiful C lydian layered sound. I know it's arbitrary but the examples in my video are definitely superimpositions :) Still I appreciate your input!
That's not true John. I respond to questions and issues immediately and offered you a solution a time ago, which you naybe missed. @@QJamTracks the download link that gets sent doesn't work. All other purchases I have made with you have never been a problem and I have no problems with the quality and professionalism of your E-Books and that's why I had no problem trying to purchase the last one. Seems it's the third party connection that is the problem. The purchase isn't a large amount so I will forget about it and call it a loss. Don't let another company ruin your work or reputation. Thanks for trying.

super sweet, thanks Rob! 🔥🔥🔥🎸
b minor chord over EMajor is my fav. It forms a dominant ninth.
Sounds great indeed Joe.

Hi Nicolas. Thanks!
Too bad I made those mistakes... I will quadrupel check the video's in the future :)
The serif font you're using looks great! What is it?
The font is Minion pro

Diatonic triads a third apart spell diatonic seventh arpeggios / chords. That's why they work.

Thank You for your efforts.

i dont know how you can stand using an axe-fx
selling mine and getting a real amp was the best thing that ever happened to my tone
Be careful purchasing anything from this channel because they don't back up what they say when there's a problem. Been dicking me around for months.
