Love your channel and all the videos you make. You have such a beautiful looking family. I used millings in my driveway over 20 years ago. It works really well. It gets as hard as cement and has never sank in anywhere. It takes a few years for it to get really hard but when it does it will never move or settle on you. Keep up the great work and can't get enough of your videos!!!!☺☺☺☺☺
Happy Friday Mike! I love millings, have them on all the property parking lots and some driveways. It's great after some sun hits it and it bonds together and packs like concrete. We plow it here in New England with no damage or tear out. I believe you'll be quite happy with it! Enjoy your weekend my friend. Doug@ the "ranch"
I use grindings a lot for driveways. I found some rubberized asphalt grindings that I put at my house. I tracked em in with my mini and steel tracks. That worked good for breaking the chunks. And then box scraper and roller. Would like to oil it when completely done. The rubberized stuff holds together nicely and packs good! Cheers 🍻
Asphalt milling spread one layer, roll compact. Then have an asphalt oil truck lay down a fresh coat of hot oil, then chip seal the surface with more asphalt millings, roll compact.
Considering the name of your channel/business and the fact that you have at least some equipment you know something about grading and it shows by how well you use that box blade. The Millings, by now I'm sure since it's March of 2020 have compacted and become just pretty much a solid mass. EXCELLENT!! I Dump Trucked for 40 years and most that time I was involved in asphalt work from time to time. I have worked on most of the bigger DOT projects here in Ga. since they redid the Downtown Connector, I-75/85 n I-20 and that was the mid 80s. I've hauled millings a lot too and they are the best driveway material short of actually paving that there is. In fact, they may be better because asphalt - or concrete will crack eventually. If there is ever anything like that with millings just add a little more to it and it's fixed!! So far so good it looks like. Oh! And we ALL kill the truck engine sometimes!!! LOL!!! Going to watch the next one!!
Great video really enjoyed it looking forward to the second part 👍 why don't you use the chain on the tailgate to spread the milling evenly and thickness.
The guy that put mine in drove & dumped the full length of the drive in thin layers so each layer was compacted with the next layer. He also made it wider, then made a small rise in the middle so rain run off went to the sides and not run the length of the drive, to the house or to the main road. I was very happy with the results. You sir made a good attempt at fixing your driveway. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
I did that to my drive about 5 years ago .......with a simplicity and a snow plow ! 😩😩😩 I’ve been very happy with my 12 ton load ....wink wink ! Thanks Mike
That definitely won't be dusty, and once you get it all packed down you can seal it with the fiber sealer and it will look just like pavement, great job Mike

Will do thanks
@@DirtPerfect yessir, hell you only need about 3 degrees of tilt on your tractor blade (not sure if you got a box blade or just a landplane) few turns on the tractor swing arm and youre set .
If you run a few loaded dump trucks over those millings, they will get rock solid. We use millings for haul roads, construction entrances and everything else. There is currently a mountain of millings in my pit, we have mountains crammed anywhere and everywhere.
Lol yup ended up hauling 60 plus loads over it 😁
I do a lot of millings driveways down here in Fl . Highway millings are the best its usauly all alsphalt and no road base ground up in it . Spread water and compact with a vibratory roler and I add Dawn Dish soap never Diesel it acts as a retardant . Hot days down here and the AC content bonds it back together .
So go so far
How do you maintain it if you bad spots later down the road
Millings
How well does it hold up? Any issues with it sticking to car tires?
Great and no
After a year if you spray it with the same oil they use to chip seal roads it will last a long time. They have done that on some roads here. Could you imagine if you put it down with a paver?
That is the long term plan 😁
The surgeon general has declared successive face-palming causes concussions and breathing difficulties from swollen nasal passages.
Nice job, looks great and should hold up well. Remember you GOTTA give it fuel when you let out the clutch. lol
Lol I know 🙄😁
@@DirtPerfect its like riding a bicycle once you know how itll be second nature. it was more difficult for you cause of the grade of the road. practice practice practice
Looking good Mike. But it look kind of narrow in a few spots.
my yard is covered, paving company piled here, a couple different years. Some from traffic and sun. looks like it was paved.
Awesome
The City I work for stock piles the millings we produce, hired contractors are a different story. The City and County allows free pick up, using your own equipment, for these millings.
Millings are free payed for the trucking
@@DirtPerfect how do I go about finding free millings? Thank you
Serious question. Are youtubers pd by the minute. By the length of videos?
That a long answer several videos out there in that
Why you never let me help with the fun jobs?! Coulda spread it out with the Kubota while you were stalling- - errr - - hailing with the truck! Done in no time, more time for vodkas!
Lol don’t worry have more projects for when you come back to visit
Dirt Perfect looking forward to them
That looks better than some county roads I've been on.
Thanks
Same here in Rhode Island. They do so much milling. Just back your triaxles under. The machine and its yours for free. They just make sure your truck insurance is up to snuff. Everyone around here have mountains of it. (Of course like a fool u dont. Always to busy. To bother
Meant to say of course. I DONT have any.
They. Are nice fine millings. It should look good and hold up. Its the big clunker stuff that gets ugly
Lol yes same here Millings are free you have to pay for the trucking and yes the fine ones are the good stuff
Hello from 2024, I just watched your recent driveway redo video👍
