Fantastic video Mike!
Great to see the drain system go together, and nice recovery of your drone in the tree. Your guys certainly work hard and know what they're doing. Truck driver spreading skills are impressive too.
Enjoy your weekend, work safe.
Doug@ the "ranch"
Lol thanks Doug and glad to have my drone back 😬
You really know how to do it the right way. That is going to be a well built home.
Thanks David
Nice quality work and a really awesome job! Thanks for sharing this video!
Thanks and thanks for watching
Love your channel btw
Sir, I love your explanations. My daily grind couldn't be farther from your profession and I have no idea about building. The way you explain it is straightforward and highly informative, I find myself watching more and more so I see something outside my office stuff. Cheers!
Awesome glade you enjoy and thanks for the feedback
A young driver that can tailgate dump rock....he’s a diamond in the rough!! Can’t wait to see the icf walls and final grading!
Lol tonight him everything he knows 😜
Dirt Perfect I screen shot this reply for any future use 😂
I thought you might like that 😁
What a great team thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks for watching
Thanks I very much enjoy your videos. I'm curious about the engine that is in the dump truck I love the sound of it it's got a small cat diesel or is it a gas I can't really tell thanks ldr
Thanks for the feedback and it’s a c7 cat
Nice job. Those are some of the sharpest walls on a basement hole I've seen in a long time. Most people around here dig basements with a track loader and they dont look near that good. I like how neat and organized the job site is, it makes working on the site a lot easier when its organized. Well done sir.
Thanks its nice when you got good dirt it work with 😁
When you were ordering the concrete & you said "I'm gonna need the elephant trunk " I couldn't figure out what you were talking about till I saw it ,that's a pretty neat trick. I Never saw one of those before I don't think they have them around here ( in Jersey) great idea though it makes life a whole lot easier does all the concrete trucks have them ? Or do they switch from to truck ?
Batch plant has one and all the truck can use it you can also buy one for about a 100 bucks well worth the money it you need it
Hell of a video Mike. Never heard of those forms before very interesting. My hats off to you man, keeping them boys working, your other crews going, keeping your self work, civic duties you do, family life and friends, and to top it off you tape it now and share with the world.
Thanks for the kind words and the feedback
I liked, I'm leaving a comment and subscribed! Love it when a plan comes together. Be nice for the weather in this video all the time. Good job. Looks great from here. Sonny (CT)
Thanks sonny welcome hope you enjoy the channel
I've never seen a drain system like that. All that open space and you fly the drone into a tree. That's just too funny. Now I know we're related. Lol. Have a blessed weekend.
I Know right just me lick attest I got it back 😁
Great job guys, love video's like this. Sure glad I found this channel.
Awesome glad you found us and thanks for watching
U knocked them piles of dirt down very nice ..good job. And yes I do know what u r talking about some think they know all about driveways but don’t know about ditches and just haul more rock will fix it
Man it looks like you have some great help! Keep those fellas around. 😀 Really enjoyed the video, looking forward to Mondays footage! 👍
Yes and thanks
The 9 thumbs down came from guys who build wooden forms, which don't get used much anymore. :)
OR- Maybe the're from your competition, who watch your videos to learn what the're doing wrong, and why you get the jobs instead of them. Enjoy your weekend. :)
😂😂😂😂 like the way you think
@@DirtPerfect , Thanks. I used to work home const. in the 70's. I like to see all the new inventions that we never had. Like the standing screw gun to screw down sub floor. I remember hot summer days on my knees with a 50 lb' box of 8 p nails and a hammer. Also walking in the muddy backfill area rolling out drain tile. Thanks for the videos. Stay Safe :)
Pretty good driving, he didn't kill the truck once. Lol, the job looks good. Have a great weekend.
Lol just had to pint that out 😜
I was going to say the same thing. Must have fixed the truck?😉
I noticed that also, he can probably run a skid steer pretty good too. Lol
You know the Dirt Ninja would have brought in his 316F with a tilt rotator to spread rock for the Form-a-Drain.
But we know who would make more money per hour.....
Just because he's a Ninja does not mean he is PERFECT .
Lol love that nice comment 😜
Nice job captian. And you to Mike lol. The Governor
Mikey you have some talented operators there. As you kept saying " perfect "! Guess Dirt " Perfect " trained them ! Thanks for vid buddy. You all do great work.
Lol thought them everything they know 😜 thanks and thanks for watching
Great video! Is it better to do footers, ICF and then slab or pour monolithic footers and slab? I’m gonna build a basement soon but am afraid I’ll have to use a concrete pump.
I prefer footer wall them slap less chance for leaks just my thoughts
Have more videos coming of this job
Dirt Perfect thanks! Learning a lot from ya. I’d hire you all to help build my house if I was closer to you all!
Lol understand thanks for watching
That tree pruner is a bit pricey for my budget...
Hadn’t seen the form-a-drain system before. Pretty slick.
Loved the rolling start on spreading the last load. (You do realize that if you were driving the truck would have stalled... tailgate hung... or camera burped.... don’t you?)
Lol yes and yes 😝
Buddy orders concrete faster than I can order a pizza! Excellent.
Mike. I'm impressed with you and your crew as usual. Never seen that drain before, but havent done a basement in a while. I put radiant floor in my shop 60 x 66 and used the2" egg crate looking tongue and groove sheets for the pipes. I loved it.
Thanks and have used that before as well very handy
Mike I like the way your doing this job. It looks like a good quality work. I had never seen the form-a-drain product. I will look into that for some future work. I use the ground fabric a lot but not many of the other contractors around me do. I think it is worth the extra cost. The only thing I have a question about is using screenings/crusher run right on the cloth?? I usually us clean 3/4 -1 inch stone right against the cloth. I want to have the water drain from under the drive. I then finish with the crusher run rock on top.
Thanks jd size of rock is determined by ground conditions not for sure if I am right or not just do what I think is best for the job
no tail gate left unlocked!!
I wasn’t driving 😜🤷♂️
That is a nice forming system. How do you like your drone? Is it a Spark? I am thinking of getting one. Just my .02 worth but I think the culvert next to the road needs to be a tad longer, maybe a stick and a half.
Dji maverick air and love it and I agree but that’s what the customer wanted so that’s what they got 😬😁
@@DirtPerfect The customer gets what the customer wants. I won't be surprised if they want it a tad longer.
Good chance
Now almost 9 1/2 thou subscribers. Dang ,mike people liking your vids. Good for. You.
Thais I know it’s crazy not for sure what the deal is
What does the c-8500 have for a motor I love your videos and honestly the ol lady jumps me all the time saying “all you watch is dirt perfect I don’t know why we even have cable” 😂😂
Lol c7cat
Great video ! So...those footer forms stay in place when you're done and act as a drain also ?
Yes
Well I can see he didn't go to Swift truck driving school. He never dumped the clutch an it never died lol. I'm going to have to do some research on then forms for when we redo our basement
Lol 😝 yup better then me and yes check them out have a few more videos coming on them
“ Dirt Perfect “ finally found a new team... Watch 😀👏
fact that your-very thorough in explaining your intentions or explanations on your building materials.
Giving us the play-by-play.... oh so your videos are clear quality 😀
I’v watched two your videos so far back to back ... future instalments... Bring then on 👍
Greetings from 🇨🇦
Awesome glade you found the channel appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching
I can't believe the abuse that drone gets and still flies straight. I've had several cheap ones and all it takes is a little dirt in the motor. This one is a keeper. Is it still the same one gifted by Jason Works A Lot? Great bird!!! Lol
Yes and me either it’s amazing love it
What type of drone do you use? I've been thinking of purchasing one?
About how much does a 300’ asphalt driveway cost? I have a large lot I am going to build on soon in SE MI and the house will be set back about that far. Should the job and quote include adding dirt like you did to account for compaction of the earth? Never thought about the dirt portion....just assumed that was made up with stone... Nice video, interested in the form / drain system.
Man good ? I really don’t know
I can't believe that green system didn't have some kind of a fabric to go over the holes to keep the silt in the fines from going down into it but what do I know
Depends on the dirt we add that form time to time
Love the way you kept saying " WE ", but actually never saw you do anything 🤣😂
You certainly do a fantastic job of being busy, trying to look busy
Must be new to the channel welcome
Have a ? What did you call the gravel under the footer and is it self compacting or just for fill? Is it for drainage? Over here in southern California inspectors want anything added to be compacted 90%. Thanks
Fill totally different here
Do you use any kind of basin with that drain system (bucket with a pump in it) ? Where does the water go if you can not dig the crossover pipe to daylight... great video you guys do a good job
This one will go to daylight if that’s not a option then yes a pit and pump
I wish my Father would heard of a fabric to put under stone for a driveway. The amount of stone he put in the driveway that sunk into the soil over the years is absurd. It's find now that the level of stone is resting on bedrock, lol.
lol yup the stone you save payed for the fabric 😁
I never really thought operating heavy machinery would require much skills until I watched you swing that bucket over the truck at 07:28 in one consistent motion and just barely missing the dumper by like 6"
Yup more to it then meets the eye
Hello, I am assuming the interior form a drain ends up under the floor slab? Not sure how you work that and have a screeding surface on the inner footing surface? I hadn't heard of them before. Might not be suitable for our particular soil and rock? Take care. Doug
Yes have a video coming out today that may explain that better
Man those footers are bad ass!! Btw, i really enjoy your videos and how you explain your process, keep up the great work and great videos!! Cheers 🍻
Thanks appreciate the feedback
Basement job looking good you have a good one
Thanks
I'll tell you Mike , that klingman is worth the extra money you pay him . He did an excellent job on the driveway.
👍
Hay somebody needed you in Texas to run a piece of equipment
One of the best 'lay-out' videos I've ever seen - nice work!
Thank you appreciate the feedback
Ya'll boys look like you've done this a time or two.
may i ask why did you separate 9 yards in two trucks you should of been abel to make that one truck
It was 10 yards they can only haul 9 here
Wouldn't that much gravel under the footings just let any water travel into the basement?
I do like your vids
Thanks and keep watching 😁
I don't mean to sound stupid, I'm in Florida and we don't have basements or clay. Why would you need to drain the water around the foundation with that form board? And where's it drain to?
Lot of ground water here and it will drain over the hill thanks for the ?
As someone who knows nothing about concrete, I am impressed that you are able to order 2 trucks of concrete on a 1hr notice.
Lol it don’t always work that way
The job is looking great
Thanks
Looks like your well organized .
Try to be thanks mike
Very good and interesting video!
Thanks
Where I live in Oklahoma ,we would in most cases use a 1/4 crusher run,it has a lot of fines in it.
Yup same here
You really are a work horse. No vacation since working on your driveway, eh?
God Bless You & Keep you Safe & Well.
Lol the cray part is these two jobs where going on at the same time basement by day driveway at night 😁
@@DirtPerfect - Then you & your loved ones are entitled to a double vacation! :)
Like I said, you really are a work horse. Hopefully you'll find time to rest & recharge.
Don't do what I did, I worked double shifts non-stop for 4-5 yrs at a time, then crashed. It takes equal time to recover.
People would warn me but I wouldn't listen.
So please heed my message about finding time to rest & recharge. You'll be better served if you do that.
While you have the hi-hoe there dig a pond on the lower end slope and connect the rain spouts to it at a later date. Just a little idea to do now instead of down-the-road later. I'm not talking anything large, simple flowing pondless kit or a 12 x16 three feet deep , think landscaping now , little bit of a pain with my older home. I'm building a 20 x 25 shop now and evesatroughing big O pipe to the backyard to my little pond beside the garden. Thinking ahead will help. Awesome digging job , hope your building inspector is as great as mine, to bad he's retiring this year. Nice views from that home love to see it when done!!
Very nice man!
Thanks
Looking sharp there sir.
Thanks
Good work Mike.. I tip my hat to ya sir! I sure love the sound of that truck well both of your trucks actually.. I seen the video when you were talking about the exhaust very unique but that lil red dump truck screams it's loud and proud in this video lol.. Keep up the great work Mr. Dirt Perfect. I can't wait to see the finished project...
Thanks dexter appreciate the feedback and kind worlds
"Liiittle red dump truck" .. wasn't that a song by Prince?
We had the slightest wind when we laid the road fabric down on our driveway and it made it nearly impossible to keep in place before we got any stone on it!
Yup they make stakes for that
That's a good looking( clean and organized ) job site . That turned out to be a great looking driveway . I love that footer drain form stuff, I have never seen it before, neat and efficient setup for building footers . This is a great informative video, so thanks Mike . I will be looking for the next videos to go with this one .
🤗👍💖💫
Great job ,
Thanks
Why did he not use the truck tailgate to spread that dirt sure you have a bulldozer but literally would’ve made it way easier
lol no sir don’t work that way at all
Thanks Mike and Kleenman for a job well done and a fantastic video. God Bless and Stay Safe.
Fantastic video as always buddy!
Thanks buddy
formadrain in my opinion is the worst thing you can use you cant snake it or camera it and what about cleanouts?
lol ok
That looks so much faster and better than the old footers we always had to build by hand. Great video Mike and thanks again for sharing this all with us.
Great job on making the driveway look wonderful.
Every place I have lived in seems to always have narrow entrances and pull trailers and I've so many times almost lost them in the ditches. Now if I build a driveway I make them much wider now but most people dont do that. They think oh a car make this but never consider trucks with trailers or stuff like that. I wonder some times if the people dont think about that or what.
Good job! Loved the video!!
Thanks
I thought this was one of your best videos. Do you do alot of basements
Thanks used to not as many now couple a year
Your mud flaps don't match. Smh
lol I know at least they are there
Cost for a 300’ driveway, just underlayment and stone?
5k ish
@@DirtPerfect I wonder what it would cost to pave? Love this channel
super job, and very well done laying the rock on the road
Thanks
Those spacers eliminate the need for chairs. Very cleaver.
Yes they work good
I have seen those drain boards pop off after years!! Run some 4” stainless screws that will help hold to concrete
Where did the drain empty out ,in a pump can ?
Will go to daylight
Hey Randy! That 4th leg still workin at that age?.. HAHA!
😬😜
Dirt Perfect good
4yrs later it pops up?
Looking good have a great day and stay safe out there
Thanks
Great job! Love the drone shots!
Even the one form the tree 🤦♂️😜😁
Dirt Perfect 🤣 yeah that one was great!
Wish my projects went as smooth as yours!
Lol they all don’t go this way 😬😁
i mike love your videos , why do you use fabric under lay on drive ways what is the main reason ? thanx dean from australia
With the clay here keeps the mud out of the rock and the road holds up better to the heavy trucks
@@DirtPerfect ok makes👍 sense great footage
🎉😊
👍
I just realized who you was from my livestream..I'm honored brother..cant believe you made time for by channel..thank you so much..watching video now
Lol no problem been subed to you for a while 😁
Being a commercial grading inspector from Commifornia there are so many things that I wouldn't be able to allow here, they just make too much sense. You're missing about 10,000 pounds of bar in that foundation too!!
Earthquake zones do make a difference to rebar needs but it did look light.
Have you been flying the hedge trimmer for long. I was thinking you could BRANCH out into a new business “LOGGER MIKE” Perhaps
Lol 😂 don’t know who planted that tree in my way 😜
Looks great ,what size rock did you use on the road
53s
Nice work, good video. 👍
Thanks
So no silt sock over the form-a-drain?
No
Very nice video! Question for you. I live in Texas and have a 150’ driveway up a hill, I have the geo textile fabric but am deciding on which stone to use. What driveway material do you prefer?
Man thanks a good ? My rep advise me to used anything that will pack so we use a lot of 53s
If You’ve got a Randy workin for ya, you know it’s gonna get done right, hehe!!😃👍😉 I might be a little bit partial though since he and I share the same first name! 🤔😉😆
Lol he is a good guy
that bloke knows how to operate that little tipper.
Yes he does
Can't wait to see the wall done.👍
Coming soon
Good stuff I loved watching all your steps. I am going to replace a basement on a 1920 house in Montana. I love the I. C. F. blocks!
Yes icf would work great for that
show more of the wall system
It’s coming tomorrow
since i was a kid 😂 I'd always wanted to know how those road contractors do their job 👍 and now i found your channel 😁 you giving me the opportunity to know how the work done....... it's educational really 👍 thanks
Thanks appreciate the feedback and welcome to the channel
I just watched a 30 minute video of some dudes pouring concrete, crashing a drone and building a driveway.
You fine gentlemen have earned a sub.
Cool and very interesting and super informative
Awesome welcome to the channel hope you enjoy
Nice use of material to keep that driveway dry
Good driver her spread that rock like a pro. The foundation looked great and really like the form/drain and the icf what a great start to an energy efficient and strong home.
Thanks Brian
