My sister and I used to duet this song all the time. And it was a favorite to sing with my friends. Any time a chapter in life changed…a friend moved away, went off to college, joined the military, got married, or passed, this was the song I chose to honor them.
I would have loved to hear your duet. It’s such a beautiful song. I’m 67, and I have loved it since it was new. I have been to his, and a few other concerts where the audience was like this one. Rich Mullins was another. We were all like this with our arms around the person next to us and singing along. It’s so powerful.
Everyone in the audience was singing and had their arms around the person next to them’s shoulders, whether they knew them or not. Thanks so much bro. You’re awesome!🤗

I posted this on my facebook page on her birthday, and I tagged a dozen of my friends from Michigan that we went to school with. When you tag someone in facebook, instead of the post just going out on a random feed, it gets posted on each person’s page. Guess how many of them responded? A big fat zero. So I suppose I should change that line to read, “I tagged a dozen people from Michigan…” so I really appreciate your response. I have been sending highly a bunch of Christian music the last few months on my lists. If you haven’t seen the bands they are really good. I can send you a separate list with all of the links in an email if you want. Let me know. I can send you the link to the actual video and then you can find his review of it in a search, or I can send you his review and work it backwards, whichever is better for you.
Michael actually co-wrote the song with his wife Debbie, as a tribute for a friend of theirs who was moving away at the time. He would later remark, "I had no idea I'd be singing this song, for the rest of my life."
This was very cool to watch , being 50 years old now... I saw Michael W Smith as a teenager at a youth conference in Ridgecrest North Carolina
