I found the cassette to this concert back in 1989, this was just a few years after being adopted by my grandparents. I remember listening to this tape over and over again. I kinda lost sight of how great it was and forgot about it until ‘live the life’ came out. I love that album so much I had to find that cassette and relive those songs again.. I was able to attend my first concert with my grandpa in Las Vegas where we both saw MWS perform. I will never forget that. So many great memories!
When I was a teenager, Micheal & Amy would each release a new album and tour every year. So many great memories seeing both of them and listening to their music. I had forgotten about this album. It is a great one. I had so much of the typical teenage angst back then. Yet listening to this music makes me nostalgic for that time in my life.
This was one of the best live concerts I ever attended. I saw Michael twice during Amy Grant's 'Lead Me On' tour in '88 and '89. It was the first time I heard Michael's music. I had already attended Amy's "Unguarded' tour in '86, and I also saw Amy during her "Heart In Motion' and 'House of Love' tour but I never got to see Michael perform again. 'Lamu' is my favorite track on this album and my favorite song of Michael's. Rocketown and Friends I also like, as well as the opening track Thank you for sharing this!
@@07triman Oh, heck yes. I wore this tape OUT when I was a kid. I always dreamed of myself playing the lead guitar part for "Lamu" and "You're Alright."
I was blessed to be in the Albuquerque audience for this tour. Despite sitting too close to the front speakers it was an incredible event… the ringing ears cleared up in time. What a time to be alive.

And "Pursuit of the Dream" doesn't appear here for some odd reason.
I have loved this album to the point of joyously playing my drums to it, and covering some songs on guitar at fundraising concerts. It will always be a favourite go-back-to album for the rest of my life.
Haha, poxa e eu aqui me arriscando no Inglês rsrs.

Saw MWS at “Night of Joy” in 1988, at DW (before they got “progressive”). First ever concert. Best concert ever. MWS & other contemporary Christian artists gave me an outlet to deal with some challenges. Probably kept me from going down a dark path.
Absolutely loved this album as a kid. Loved I (2) Eye and Go West Young Man as well, but I think the Live Set is my favorite. For one thing, the version of Rocketown is so much warmer than the studio version - love the intro to it as well. The entire album has a tremendous amount of energy. I Know was one of those truly relatable songs to a Christian kid in middle school who didn't fit in - amazing to think now that Michael W. Smith possibly felt left out of the celebrity crowd. He was kind of a celebrity and adored by his community, but he was surrounded by an industry that probably seemed like they were having nothing but fun, and he had to say no to a lot of things. Great album, amazing how well this stands up. It's still great. Thanks for posting.
"I know" still makes me cry remembering my childhood. I live in Chile and at that time was almost impossible to get some english music but we did it anyway. God's mercy is amazing ❤️
Repent from sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved from God's eternal judgment and damnation. Jesus died to forgive us of our sins and arose to give us eternal life! Jesus still saves!
I R I N E U . Concordo c vc.

Still rocking out in 2024
Saw this in person at Six Flags over Texas in 1987. One of the best concerts I have ever seen, hands down.
I remember buying the cassette as a teenager still love it.
Favorite Michael W. Smith album ever.

All the songs are Holy Spirit filled.
The highlight of MWS's musical career in my opinion. The big picture album was a masterpiece.
Wish they had this album on Spotify. One of my favorite albums of MWS. Seeing this live at Reunion Arena in Dallas back in 1987 was amazing!
thank you so much for this! couldn't find this album on Spotify. so glad it's on youtube. mws forever❤
Wow how time flies. I remember my mom buying me this cassette back in the late 80s and listening to it on my walkman. Thanks for the album upload.
Michael Valenzuela 😃😀
I miss listening to music on a Walkman. I like my iPhone but there was something about putting tapes into a walkman that was cool
@@07triman Oh, heck yes. I wore this tape OUT when I was a kid. I always dreamed of myself playing the lead guitar part for "Lamu" and "You're Alright."
My Mom won tickets for the show. My parents had a great time, and found themselves on the video
Hands down best MWS album ever!
And to believe that Nashville told him to not sing, just play and write songs. Then he met Amy Grant and all is history.
Thank you Michael, God used you to pull me out of my childhood depression!

Saw this concert. Was blown away!!
For me, this live version of ”Emily”, with its emotion and solo keyboard, is better than the polished studio version.

Those are heavy names in the band. WOW!!!!!!!
Its hard for me to say its his best album ever given its a compilation cd performed live. All the songs on here are on other albums.

I'm not religious but I'm here 'cause I like catchy '80s music.
This is one of the few MWS releases not on streaming services. Does anyone know why?
wondered the same. probably some licence agreement issues. so glad it's on youtube though.

The bad news is my mother would have sent me to military school if I listened to secular music. The good news is I liked MWS.
