At the end of RCIA, I was given a New American Bible Catholic Version as a gift from our Church and felt as Kenny did…so happy to be encouraged to read the Bible.
Vatican II is under such an attack right now from the sede-vacantists, that this topic, this beautiful document "Dei Verbum", "Word of God" Who is from the Beginning, is just the right subject for me today!
Vatican II produced wonderful documents. However, a radical change in liturgy also resulted, disorienting many, yet still it was embraced. After decades of effort, Traditional Mass / Traditional Liturgy is now widely available, right alongside the “Novis Ordo” or New Mass. I encourage everyone to try both. As a daily communicant, and Sunday Traditionalist (TLM), I’m more in love now with out divine inheritance - our Catholic Faith - than ever before. With gentleness and respect, lets greet all participants in the dialogue (now raging) and accept that each has something valuable to offer.
I generally attend a NO and either a Tridentine Latin Mass or an ICKSP Latin Mass on any given weekend. Usually a NO vigil on Saturday and a Latin Mass available at various times on Sunday. I have never heard a single person attending the TLM or the ICKSP denigrate or besmirch Vatican II in any way.
I’m so excited for this new series. I came to the Christian faith by reading the new testament but did not have much guidance. Almost thirty years later after seeing the holes in the doctrine of Sola scriptura I became Catholic. This has been the best decision and I have found a thriving parish that offers Bible study several times a week. I especially like the Great Adventure Bible series that ties the Old Testament to the New Testament.
Thank you for this! Ever since my dad's (a convert in the late 40's, early 50's) problems with how Second Vatican Council was implemented here in the U.S., and yet retaining his faith in the Church, I've struggled with this issue - so glad to hear a logical, enlightening discussion of all the issues surrounding this. I will be listening to the next video that is out now, and look forward to your future videos on this topic. I will be interested to see if you cover the incident that caused the difference in how Vatican II was implemented here in the U.S. so drastically from other Catholic countries. You three are my favorites to listen to in learning more about my lifelong Catholic faith.
Don't know if you prefer I comment on TH-cam or the website, I'll repeat myself here: This is great. I read Dei Verbum a couple of years ago. I will dig out my notes and follow along. This is a wonderful idea for a series.
Theology should be conducted in the vernacular, despite how linguistic complexities have always made that difficult. However, it needs to be done with a heart open to how God may reveal himself differently to people who speak different languages. Had that been understood in the 5th century, the earliest extant fissures within the Church may never have formed.
Yay!! Welcome back!! ❤
It's good to be back! Excited about this new series...
Great discussion, looking forward to the discussion! God bless

The rosary provides a banquet of scripture, combining an ancient traditional prayer with the gospel.
Thanks from Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil. 🇧🇷
Looking forward to this new series. From this first episode I can already tell it's going to be a good one!
I read the Bible as a kid as a cradle Catholic

Those who promote TLM only and anti Vatican II should give this a listen!
