I absolutely love how x men 97 showed the new generation of people watching the show, that cyclops is absolutely goated

Yes! Cyclops has had so many good moments this episode and this season, you can’t help but want to see him going all out and at his best!

@@Saphthings His kid was going away either way, he just didn't have to courage to say goodbye. That's not abandoning. Also his wife literally kissed Logan unprompted, 5 minutes before talking shit about cheating. They were both a mess but only Scott gets criticized for it.
They did his character way more justice than the original series & every live action film

@@davidkrane7026 yeah, and in the animated series from this show back in the day we got some cameos of them too. Like they were showed in Gambit's mind I think. Alongside with Ghost Rider too wich seems like they saw each other in some way even if it was just for a cameo the simple explanation I could manage of that is that they encountered each other.
Like Wolverine and Morph in some episode of season 2, Morph turned himself into Deadpool also could tell that Morph had seen Deadpool in some way. Well Deadpool was created in the 90s so it was like his first time in screen and it would count a lot in a animated version.

Professor, the cube Cable uses to time travel, is stored in his techno organic arm. When Bastion absorbed Cable's arm, he unknowingly absorbed it. When he blew up, it caused the X-Men to be scattered across time.

And I believe it ties into apocalypse for a good reason because cable is tied to defeating apocalypse from the things sinister did to him

@@OfficialDjTalksickI know there’s retcons but, originally there was no cure (the X-men thought there was one in the future but there was only tech to postpone the onset). I think it was originally cured in the comics due to the Phoenix force (as yet another way to show just how insane its power level was)
Prior to that though, Cable himself learned to control it since he’s an Alpha level telepath (with flashes of Omega level powers on occasion)

I cried in that scene with Erik and Charles. When he was scared to let go and afraid of his own torment "it's too cold. I'll drown!" "And I'll always have you, Magnus. Even if I'm also pulled under..." Damn, such good friends ❤ I love them so much more than any other characters. There is no Erik without Charles and vice versa.

Yeah their unbreakable lifelong ride or die friendship in the 90's X-Men TAS and this series is the best part of the shows.
@@fmthebaron even in the live action movies they are so good and have such strong bond. I wish I had a friend like they do. Even with different ways of thinking like their methods are different but they still have this common cause to fight for.
All my friends are gone and I have to admit that these characters are almost everything I have close to that. I can relate in so many things despite being an ordinary human with so many flaws and struggling, but I guess all of these characters have showed is that they are also like ordinary humans in some ways.
The X-Men is so important to me and so many people around the world. I feel a little bit less lonely because of that.

When Charles is telling Erik to remember magneto, when he says “remember what he was meant to do” he means, that magneto is and was always meant to be the ultimate protector of the mutant race. A Omega level mutant meant to protect his own from anyone that means them harm.

Give Bastion credit, he had amazing style. I did love Storm's troll laugh as Pheonix came up from the water, and what amazing cliffhangers.

I'm impressed with how this show handled Magneto and his backstory. It's a serious topic and I think it was done well.

A great first season
Gambit will be back as Death, the Horseman of Apocalypse. Mother Askani is Rachel Summers, Scott and Jeans daughter. That storyline is pulled straight from the 4 part mini series from the 90’s called The Adventures Of Cyclops And Phoenix. En Sabah Nur is Apocalypse.

Magneto has 4 kids. Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, a human daughter who died before the X-men were formed and another Daughter named Polaris. Polaris basically girl Magneto with green hair.

SW and QS aren't exactly his children, he didn't raised them and although there was a period when we actually thought they were his biological children Marvel recently denied it, so technically the two are not related to Magneto, but he actually love and care for them as if they were his children

ONSLAUGHT is the best crossover saga Marvel ever made. And we're definitly getting it! The radio channel we see just before Peter and MJ is set to 1996.6, and ONSLAUGHT first revealed himself in the June 1996 issue! The clue is very subtle, but hey it's there!
But it will take time for Charles to slowly abandon his dream and be consumed by grief and resentment. My bet is Charles will become Onslaught at some point in the second half of season 2, and the entire 3rd season will be Onslaught.

he became a lot more powerful when he defeated Kang and stole his time travel tech and merged with Celestial tech as well

Lorna is Magnus's daughter who also has similar powers just taken from the southern polarity unlike magneto which uses the northern polarity.
The Adimantiam also stops him from regression into his Prehistoric Feral form. It's an upgrade at the loss of his humanity and self awareness.
The characters on the boat from left to right are Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Rogue, and Polaris. All people important to Magneto because three of them are his children. Polaris is from another relationship but Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were his first children
Jubilee melted his face. Her "fireworks" are explodable plasmoid. Very potent.

It is apocalypse. En Sabah nur is his real name. Originally he was supposedly the first mutant. With the retconning and comic disaster with Kirby and the Eternals, they decided to make the first mutants come from the Celestials born from both Eternals and deviants.

Think Bastion is still a live.....he has the ability to time travel now, he just needed a huge power source like the singularity created by the nuke missiles hitting the gravity core, provided enough juice for him to time travel. That's why that black hole disappeared too...otherwise it would've ate everyone with Earth...Bastion actually saved everyone. Love your reactions! You truly are an X-MEN fan! 21:28 Yup that is Apocalypse. His real name is En Sabah Nur. And he is not like that from the movie that transport his mind from different bodies. He can live for a thousand years and he has his own chamber where he sleeps 100 years after each millennium to rejuvenate himself so he wouldn't age.

Unless they gloss over it, Logan doesnt have Bone Claws in this cartoon, that story didn't exist yet. The episode with Captain America, he had to use Claws he had to hold, he even gave a pair to Captain America so they could both scale the cliff to get into Red Skulls base, so unless they just ignore that, no bone claws here.
Bishop is the BIGGEST L TAKER of the series.
This dude legitimately got his ass kicked in the first 2 episodes,disappeared at the end of episode 3 with the ONE JOB of protecting Nathan and he immediately failed that.
Only for him to show 6 months after the Cataclysmic event that just occurred in the finale.

But man Cyclops legitimately was amazing in this episode.
His acrobatics mixed with his Beam vision was so dope.
Especially with that Epic Beam Attack on Bastion reminiscent of the "BEHOLD. OPTIC BLAST!!" From the Marvel vs Capcom series.
And man Rogue's Blitz on Bastion was beautiful.
I think Bastion is coming back in the 2nd season, and I think Jubilee will actually be instrumental in beating him. They were sure to show the little that she did caused him the most damage. I mean, the way she fried arcades, her walkmans, security systems, they could just run with her powers ultimately mess with his tech.

Only possible down side is Disney Fired the show runner for something...? He had a 5 season plan for the show so were does it go now? Season 1 and 2 were done back to back so we may not have to wait to long for Disney to drop Season 2 since its ready to go.

Seeing that post credit scene Gambit will definitely be coming back as the horseman of death. Season 2 might only have 10 episodes just like season 1. So maybe the first 5 episode the x-men will deal with Apocalypse in the past and future. And then the last 5 episodes all the x-men will go back to their timeline in the present day to stop Apocalypse and his new 4 horsemen.

26:01 I am actually REALLY glad that you said that, Erik hasn't really been given a fair "draw" on this show (no pun intended, but there's definitely one in that statement). After being shown the worst aspect of human nature 1st hand as a child. He chose to brush that aside in the wake of his best friend's "passing". Bastion and Sinister came in with the support of many humans and wreaked havoc. The Genosha Episode I think marked a VERY critical point in Magneto's arc with the feeling that it'll NEVER be enough good for the Mutants to do, to be fully accepted as equal beings born on the same planet.
Hell the X Gene triggering Mutation itself is Random asf so to see the backlash to Mutants from Humans entirely Justifies Magneto's distrust.
Charles hijacking Erik's mind had to happen but that in turn repowered Bastion's army of Sentinel-Human Hybrids that was practically aimed at Mutants alone. Granted, The X-Men Prevailed, Thank God For Jean and the Phoenix Force Energy.
I guess one can argue that since Sinister and Bastion was responsible for the attack on Genosha that Magneto can't blame the Humans for it, yet there are still many Humans that unnecessarily dislike Mutants but ironically can't help but create them lol.

Bastion was right about humanity, they'd rather die than have mutants as their kid's, even mutates would be a problem
The Onslaught saga is one of the greatest story arcs in X-Men lore. Granted, everyone's entitled to their opinions. That being said, as one of your newfound followers, I really don't think you should let someone else's opinion dictate your choice of interest in something, just cuz you often agree with them on certain points. I'm not really the biggest fan of Colton as he's often been in the minority on a lot of stuff that are actually very beloved by the overall consensus of hardcore comic book lovers. That's not saying he's completely wrong on certain other points because he does raise some pretty good ones too but I, personally, am just not a fan of his takes. But the Onslaught series is definitely an awesome arc and it seems like it'll be explored either within season 2 (which might be unlikely but you never know) OR as a post-credit stinger at the end of the season, teasing it for season 3. My advice, give it a shot. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Polaris is the 2nd daughter of Magneto. I believe she also has the power to manipulate magnetic fields. She pretty fucking awesome.
She featured as a main character on the short lived fox marvel tv series, The Gifted. Its worth a watch if youre needing a mutant fix.
I think that Wolverine and Gambit will wind up as horsemen of Apocalypse. At least they were in the comics.
probably Storm, Logan and Morfo will be the horsemen of the apocalypse along with Gambit, which is why they were not shown

I hope they just start an entire Marvel Animated Universe. Give all the big characters their own animated series and have occasional crossovers.
Well, in my opinion we need at least 3-4 seasons (if we get "Avengers" and Spider Man animated series in order to make this into full fledged Marvel Animated Universe it would be 10 times better) in order to accumulate the grudge between Mutants and Avengers (we need events such as Day M, Messiah , Schism, etc. We need Cyclop to become radical)
Another thought. The Horsemen almost alway have one X-Man in it. (Really don't want all 4 to made up of them.) I wonder if the child Magneto tried to protect could be one. Apocalypse has taken weak mutants and turned them into something more before, look up Gazer or Caliban.
(And Onslaught would be okay, if it's kept short and leads into something else. Honestly, we haven't even seen the Juggernaut yet, and I'm yearning for that. Want somebody to tangle with? Juggernaut. And there's a story to be told there, one of jealousy and child abuse.)

No you're correct. Onslaught didn't happen until 2 years after Fatal Attractions.
Both Wolverine and Gambit have been the horseman Death. They may make the missing X-Men all horsemen. Morph - Pestilence, Storm - Famine, Wolverine - War, Gambit - Death.
He makes Wolverine his horseman in the comics, the whole time the rea llogan was captured. It is a lazy way to correct their writing mistakes.
