    Wow that pine tree was a real history. I am not a tree hugger but I do like to see really big old trees saved.

    I once had to take out a huge maple tree and the trunk was prolly twice the diameter of that pine - same situation you had with most of the branches leaning over the highway - but I didn't have a sweet Volvo 210! All I had was my Bobcat 7753. I put the bucket up into the crotch of the 1st branch about 8' up and my buddy started sawing. I was full throttle and full ankle on the lift arms and when he cut far enough, that sucker cracked and settled back onto my bucket, but thankfully I was just enough to keep the tree from falling on the road - it started to fall to the right, taking me with it and about almost 1/2 way to falling on my side, my bucket came free and I popped back onto all my wheels. Bent my lift arms out of whack and thankfully another buddy of mine with a Link Belt was able to log chain across my bucket and 'tweeked' me until my bucket was flat on the ground again, saving me several 1000 dollars! :-)

    I love seeing you push over trees and picking them up. Its amazing the power these machines have.
    Do you think you could make longer videos? I wouldnt mind it if you just left the gopro to record for maybe an hour.

    I do not like working around old house places because it's very easy to ruin a $1,000 set of tree cutter teeth on a piece of metal.

    more money than sense !!!!!! cut an oak tree down to save a crappy building, the oak tree would have be worth 1000's of dollars in a few years, and looks a lot better on the eye !!!!

      I've never understood opinions like these. There's plenty of trees around. And oak isn't really valuable, not like pine trees and the like which you build with. Oak is really only used decoratively for furniture and the like. Demand isn't really high

    • @joelbarron658
      @joelbarron658 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a shame Chris has already got rid of it, he could've sold it to you for $5000

    You need a woodcutter equipment on your excavator Chris for that tricky trees, it works faster than a chainsaw 😂😛

    hahaha!!!! hey thats a better job of cutting than stevey coulda done anyways

  • @codyquimby5457

    love the vids..But with all the decent saw logs left..... You need one of those portable sawmills. People pay for rough wood and special cuts.

    • @imchris5000
      @imchris5000 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      my uncle has a woodmizer and he makes a ton of money making 40ft slabs
      a large sawmill does not make super long cuts so thats the real money market

    • @codyquimby5457
      @codyquimby5457 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +imchris5000 Way cool. at least that puts those to rest that think all is wasted. There's also good money in those barns that cuts. I'm not sure what they are 1 3/8 or 1 1 1/2 by 12. especially if on the rough cut. can easily treat them too. good on you man keep up the great videos

    Stupid question bu, can the teeth on the bucket touch the front window or will it not fold in that far?

    • @oz1vlh
      @oz1vlh 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Standart machinery will not could reach the cabin.

    • @TheDev0
      @TheDev0 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A regular pin-on bucket will not hit the cab. Add a hydraulic quick coupler and it WILL strike the cab.

    • @oz1vlh
      @oz1vlh 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never operatet a machine with those quick couplers, so therefor I just forgot about that.
      Because regular machines mostley are build without "self destruction" :-)
      Ofcorse longreach will to could reach the cab I think.

    Zero safety equipment...not surprised

  • @digger973
    @digger973 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    You know you should probably put a hard hat on the saw dog there. Just by the off chance he does get killed or crippled it might help in court. Imo. You know I dig s/w and we are Osha certified but if I dig a ditch and it's not safe and someone gets killed or hurt, if it's bad enough I can get charged with criminal charges depending what it looks like. And if u dig a hole and someone falls in it, doesn't matter about safety, orange fence , metal fence, super magical fence, doesn't matter they are rich or dead. The shits getting tough fellas the only proper way is not to leave a hole. Or pay a security guard to gaurd it till we finished. Maybe u guys should brush up on some safety. But it doesn't matter because by the time u see him your guilty. They are sneaky basturds

    Sir you really do a good job with your videos....for the most part. I realize you can film and upload whatever you wish but I believe if you didn't
    curse so much, even more would subscribe to your channel. I'd invite you to follow a fellow chanel owner who really does a great job . You might have more "followers" but "cotontop3" really does a super job that one would encourage their family to subscribe.
