Stadium 2 was so good. It took everything good about the first one and improved and added to it. The colors, the visual effects, the trainer commentary, etc. Such a great game. Can you imagine how good it would be if theu kept up with it with each generation.
A new version of this with every Pokemon and every battle mechanic is my dream game.

That's how stupid the AI can be. I remember several times going up against Chuck and sending out Misdreavus and he would continuously keep using dynamic punch despite it being ineffective against Misdreavus.
Got to give that hoothoot some praise for surviving a rock throw from a fully evolved rock type like golem.
Yeah but Rock Throw isn't all that great of a rock type move and Golem isn't as great of an attacker as say, Tyranitar or Rhydon
@@pix985v still an attack stat of 105 isnt something to take slightly. Most flying types would be taken out in one hit especially if it was a basic pokemon with below average stats

Bisharp is the real bane of Team Rocket.
Team rocket was tough! It was so long ago, I don't remember how I finally beat them. I at least remember using steel pokemon to counter the explosion and toxic strats.

"Until today, Stadium 2 remains the best Pokémon game. No new Pokémon game has been able to replicate the same energy and animation as a old N64 game. A Open world Pokemont game with this type of battle would be perfect.

You weren’t the only one. I hated some of the combos the guys used to annoy you. That protect/toxic one for starters. I was lucky enough if I landed a critical. I mean, I had the right guys for the job.
It took me until recently to beat challenge cup where you get random pokemon to use lol

When I was a kid I ask my mom to rent this, if I remember I could only rent it for one day before I could even do the gym leaders I had to beat Team rocket & I got my butt kick. at the time i only played Pokémon stadium 1 & used the legendary birds 99.999% of the time & watched the show, so i picked all legendaries again & as i said got my butt kicked, once i started to get the hang of it ( or i thought i was anyway ) we had to take it back. That was the first & only time i played this game & its one i hope Nintendo sells on the 3ds or something one day because i'd to play it again all these years later.

Lance... only thing I can say about him is that I absolutely HATED this S.O.B as a kid! I did eventually beat him, but it took me many, many tries to the point where, if I remember correctly, I actually cried at one point! 🤣

In the Ghost gym, you should’ve used Psychic against Gengar. Gengar is ghost/poison, which would’ve made psychic super-effective, and it would’ve taken advantage of STAB
it would be kinda risky though since gengar is a ghost type which are super effective against psychic types... i think a dark type would be a better choice in this case since dark types are super effective against ghost types

@Nicholas Vital What are you talking about? Gengar is part poison type, psychic is super effective against poison types. No one even mentioned dark moves, plus ghost type moves were physical in Gen 2, its weaker than STAB psychic.
Ablities also don't exist in Gen 2, so you could also use a ground type since gengar won't have levitate.

An amazing run, but I think you would’ve been better off if you had an actual electric type to do the damage to Pokémon that are weak to electric. A shiny Gyarados has low Sp.Atk

Couple questions: how were you able to play this in HD Quality? How were you able to use your old Pokes? This couldn't have been videoed from a Regular N64.
We played on an emulator for higher quality, and we emulated transfer pack with the savegames of our Pokémon Red and Crystal playthroughs which we played on a different emulator. Those runs are also on our channels.

This year so far I had bought a Raspberry PI-4 and a Odroid emulation console because I was hustled to believe that they would run N64, Dreamcast and PS1 games near perfect and both of them don't work. I'm looking for an emulator console or a PC that can play it , plus GameCube, Wii, and possibly Wii U and 3DS games

As you can see in the game, I use my Pokémon Crystal save game which has a shiny Gyrados.

Should use Psychic on Gasly Haunter and Gengar and Shadow Ball on Psychic Types.
Try Round 2 with rentals. Everybody can beat Round 1 with own raised pkmns.

42:00 Why tf would you use shadow ball instead of psychic? Psychic is both STAB, super effective, and special; whereas, shadow ball is physical, not STAB, super effective but alakazam has a horrible attack stat :|
1. Because I have the bad habit of forgetting that Gengar Ghost Poison and not just Ghost so Ghost was in my mind the only super effective move. 2. Because Shadow Ball is special in every game after this one so I again think it's special anyway. So I am just dumb sometimes.

In Pokémon Stadium 2 you can use Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal. In Pokémon Stadium 1 you could only use Red, Blue and Yellow.

So in Pokemon Stadium 2, I don't have Pokemon that are personally mine; all are rentals. If I'm not mistaken, in order to exclusively own a Pokemon and give it certain moves (like in any Pokemon quest video game), I need a...Pak, is it? I don't know; I've always only had a N64, controllers, and games, nothing more. I think this Pak has something to do with a GameBoy, right? See, I no longer have a GameBoy, and I can only assume I'd be able to get a N64 Pak through an online order or this old video game store a relative got me this particular game from. My favorite Pokemon is probably Geodude. Let's say I wanted one for myself, not a rental, and I could give it moves I revere (like Headbutt, for example, because I'm curious if the bodiless "head-like" Pokemon looks more like its Tackling or something).
Oh, I don't want to leave it there, because I have a question while I'm here. Why not make the fossil Pokemon ground types, since they'd been buried for years (like Omanyte and Kabutops). Rock and water, not ground? I'd have sacrificed one of the two options for the third one. In fact, why aren't Marowak and Cubone fossil Pokemon; look at their heads and you can see my point.

Didn't know you could use Crystal Version and Red Gyarados.
Since gold and silver is compatible, it makes sense for crystal to also be compatible.
And offcourse the red gyarados is compatible, it is present in gold/silver/crystal.
Infact, any shiny pokemon can be used in stadium 2.
