Because of the cup were your pokémon can be level 50 to 55 but in total not more than 155 in total. With everyone on level 51 I can still use every team combination.
the developers added other type of Pokemon into their teams to make it a bit more challenging. Otherwise you could just use a Fire type and sweep her. While on Misty's team, Electric Types have 100% hitting Thunders under the Rain and Grass Types Fire weakness is reduced.
I wonder why red's team is different, shouldn't it be pikachu, venusaur, charizard, blastoise, snorlax, and espeon just like in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal?
