- My 2006 6l Seat Ibiza 1.4 DAB Edition is a great little car, I've already done a video on what sucks about it so here's what I love about it!
From the engine to the suspension it's a great little car and really holds it's own on the road for such a small package.

Paynos Hi m8, hope your having an amazing Christmas, one video I would like you to make in the future would be an economy run in your car where you put an amount of fuel in and drive as far as possible hypremiling and then see how much mpg your car achieves

Love my little Ibiza DAB.
Fun to drive, chuckable, 41 mpg on a weekly basis & ultra reliable.
I also drove a Seat Alhambra as a company vehicle & hated the discomfort of it.
After a day in that, as a service engineer, my back is raging & as soon as I sit in Boris [ Yes I have named him!!] the world seems right.
Glad you love your little Seat.

Hi Paynos, I was looking for a cheap reliable second car and was tempted at first down the French route but after watching some of your videos decided to check out the Ibiza, brought a 57 plate 1.4 Ref sport for £1500 last week and so far am really impressed with it, excellent VFM. Have my Ibiza since 2005, it's an 2002 model.
1.4 16V engine also, really great to drive, especially after a few mods to match my driving and improving it.

I've owned a 2003 6l 1.2 for 2 years now, and now about to buy a 2008 6l FR, It is an amazing car, fell in love with the Ibiza :)
Just got one myself 2008 1.2 Fr it's surprisingly nippy! Bargain as well

I'm an 18 year old in the UK and I haven't started driving yet, I will soon but I just need to gather the money, one thing is for sure though, when I am eventually driving, I hope to God that it's in the driver seat of a seat ibiza like that 👍

I do like seat, just because it is Volkswagen! Personally i prefer fiesta as a first just because you can pick one up for £1k for like 2005-2006, 1.2 petrols are a solid engine.

Agree with you! I also own a 6l 3door Ibiza but in sport version with 1.9 tdi 130hp
engine. It's lovely to drive, with huge torque it goes nicely from low
rpm. Have you driven one ? I am curios about comparison with petrol

yes i can confirm 100%. my first car IS an ibiza Signo 3DR 2002, 1.4 16v petrol 75hp.
220'000 km (136'701 miles).. ordinary maintenance.. and it still go on...
now i'm thinking to level up with a 5DR New Seat Leon Fr 1.4 petrol 150hp...

I know this is a crazy old video, but would you mind me asking which area you are from in insurance terms. I live in east london (technically) and my first years insurance was quoted over double yours. Just curious as to what will get my insurance down a bit.
Got the 1.9 Tdi 2008 model and find it great as my first car, only paid £550 as well
my first car is a 1978 Volvo 245dl lol, but soon to receive a 3.0L 2JZ engine to make it gangster. Insurance is around £1100 for the original 2.1L

Ah, it's nice to see some appreciation for this lil' car! Sadly, it's a little too long in the tooth and never got the chance it deserved - as it's actually a very good car! After around 2,000 miles worth of driving with my Pre-Facelift, it's probably the most comfortable car I've ran with among a sea of Renaults and other rubbish like that. Doesn't matter if you go for the diesels either as they're pretty damn strong and very gutsy (even the slowest 1.9TDi variant) - shame that its performance can't be enjoyed in the slightest when you have to endure a black box. Only main issues with the 6L Ibizas seem to be wings that rust quite badly around the front wheel arch as well as bushes in the suspension getting chewed up quite quickly. One thing that deserves some credit is the back seats themselves in these things, they're so soft and comfortable that once you've got in the back for whatever reason, it proves difficult dragging yourself back out again! xD

They are great little cars for sure, but they do have their fair share of problems. I found out personally about the bushings as I had to replace a set haha. Not sure my little beastie is going to last too long into 2017, I'd love to upgrade it.

Paynos I'm sure it'll keep plodding along! It looks in pretty good condition compared to mine which is sat at 124,500 miles with an ikky gearbox! however, in comparison, I would say that these things are more reliable than the equivalent Peugeots and Fords!
Oh yeah it'll definitely last, it just depends on how long I'm willing to keep it ;)
When it comes to the time, you'll probably not want to get rid of it because of the emotional connection a first car has on everyone ;)

Got a seat ibiza reference sport 1.4 tdi (so diesel with a turbo) and four door and it's a blast. Only 1100 to insure on first year

if u can afford it take the 1.9TDI 100Hp or 131HP Engine. Really good acceleration and low Diesel consumption.

Why have you stuck a fr badge on it?
I've recently brought a 1.4 sportrider and it's even cheaper to insure than yours even though it has fr bumpers. It's a really fun car but getting awful fuel economy. Average of 27mpg. The last tank got 240 miles. I did my driving test in a Golf R and it could easily get 35+mpg. Hoping the mpg will rise to 30+ once I've done some basic maintenance.

Not everywhere 😂😂. Most I've got in a normal trip is 31. Using v-power at the moment because it sounds nicer but going to try normal fuel on the next tank and see if it improves the mpg. How many miles do you normally get to a tank?
It's about 350 normally with a full-ish tank, yeah a service and maybe new spark plugs should help you out with that for sure. Got any fault codes/engine check light?
No fault codes even on Vag-com. I'm planning on doing spark plugs soon after I get the original cambelt replaced. It's got cheap tyres the garage I brought it from put on which probably don't help. An update for our engine's ecu came out in December 2009 and as it's never been to Seat for a service I'm hoping it hasnt had it yet so it'll improve when I get it done. The update is meant to increase bottom end power and decrease throttle lag.
Yeah mine went in to get the update done and it definitely improved the way the car feels throttle response wise. Get it serviced for sure and let me know if it sorts it out!

This car was about £15 a month tax, £60 a month insurance (3 years ncb) and was about 40mpg!

Nope. SEAT almost has everything better. Volkswagen parts/german engineering. Opel/Vauxhall are rubbish and so are the engines. Guzzle oil and tick like a bitch

Mine averaged around 35mpg and that's with me driving under 30mph in 5th. Best I ever got was like 40mpg going to work. If I drove normally then 34mpg if i'm lucky.
I'm guessing mine had a faulty sensor or something.

Hey i have the 2012 Seat Ibiza 1.2 Diesel Ecomotive, cheap insurance, no tax, and around £40 to fill and you can get around 85 90 mpg out of it depending on how you drive no DAB radio but it has AC and all the usual fm and cd and aux. perfect first car!
