How about mentioning that it is the only device that can read your Kindle books out loud to you without paying for the audible book. That is the sole reason I bought a Kindle Fire.
I was very surprised when, only yesterday when I got my brand New Tablet, that it already had the TH-cam icon. And I was immediately able to watch any TH-cam video I wanted!!!!!
Purchased the Fire HD 8 a few days ago. I have the 10. I need a smaller one that's lighter weight and easier to carry. To read books, it's more convenient.
Yeah that’s what I’ve been thinking about doing. I have the Fire 10 Plus 64GB, thought bigger screen is better, but it’s heavy. Will be waiting for Prime Day discount for Fire 8 Plus

Got it for £60 on a black friday deal, I put in a 1tb sd card with 1000 albums on it in hi-res flac files. Now streaming from the amazon bluetooth 5.2 to a bluetooth 5.2 reciever connected to my marantz hi-fi with no delay & its amazing. Total cost was about £160 but nothing to me as wife got it all for my Christmas.
Yeah, I use the Plus version. Not as awesome as my old iPad 7 (now owned by my wife), but serviceable for my needs of reading comics, mags, and newspapers, streaming Netflix, TH-cam, writing my articles sometimes, and...that's it. I don't play games on it.
Update: I was able to install PPSSPP on it and played my favorite falcom games! Super awesome!!

@@emileblanche5868 Well, seeing as it is also an android, it supports all writing apps you'd find on Google Play. But I use apkpure app, instead. Just fine, nonetheless.
I bought the Fire HD 8 2017 model and it's served me well over the years but I just upgraded to the 2022 model. Like you said, not much has changed. I expected it to be a little snappier, but really it isn't. I do however like the other upgrades, such as more storage, slightly better battery, a better screen ratio (the 2017 was taller yet not as wide) and the fact that the Fire OS is now on version 8. The 2017 only went up to version 5. I mainly use this device as a way to watch movies on airplanes and for that, it's honestly really fun and practical.

Just bought the fire 8hd (normal not plus). £42. Can't argue with that for something to watch tv and films on and reading books etc
Just bought this in the rose color for manga and light novels and can't wait for it to arrive. Mis;laced my kindle and this was on for $99 cdn vs. the kindle I would have bought being $209. Decided on this because sometimes manga has some color pages and I liked colored covers, plus the larger screen size--8 rather than 6.8--will help with my eye sight. I've had tablets at a variety of price points in the past. Looking forward to this inexpensive little thing doing a very specific job and hopefully doing it well.
When they first started their tablet range it didn’t make much sense. Samsung, huawei and alike had their own budget phablets and tablets that were the same or cheaper than amazons with more power, features and better build quality.
As time has gone on though, those other brands have run the price up on all their lower end devices which has made amazons tablets a really good option for media consumption.
The Amazon Fire 'Kindle' HD 8/plus is pretty good for its price and its also quite robust which is a bonus. Downside is as mentioned low internal storage size and cameras. If you need a budget tablet to read some books on, put some basic video file on and photos and doc on, then the Fire HD8/plus is a good choice.

Can you use this tablet with a Firestick to transfer Prime Video content to a TV? Is the video quality limited to the tablet quality or would it be better quality on a TV? I do not have unlimited internet, so I have to download Prime Video content and am unable to stream.

Dont know what you did on the fire 8 but I have just under 1000 hi- res flac albums using a 1gb sd card, you stream that music from the hd 8 to a bluetooth reciever installed on a marantz hifi, its amazing with no delays & great sound. Mayve you use the older hd 8. ?

100% they even have a feature for kids only so they are limited with apps and such
get the hd 8 plus cuz it has an extra gig of ram so the games can run a bit faster, dont expect to be running games like roblox smooth at all tho
You can’t get the standard TH-cam app on this tablet, Google Play cannot be side loaded 🤷🏻♂️
Google services can be installed on this tablet. I have it working perfectly on my hd8 plus 2022 with no issues and now running the proper TH-cam app. Now l have a full android portable wireless charging tablet 😁😁

The 8 is too slow imo. If you want a decent budget tablet I suggest at least getting the HD 10.
Depends on your usage. I got the 8 because 10 is pretty big for my need. And my needs are dedicated manga reader and occasional anime watching sessions
What's the 10 got that makes it faster ?. I do have the previous 10 & and it was awfully slow.

Terrible if you enjoy reading books in different formats like PDF and EPUD ect. Don't get the fire 8 it is straight up rubbish. It don't play mp3's it don't show your own JPEG and PNG images. You have to formart micro sd cards to use them and even that system is horrible. It has bad obscured apps exclusively for the fire. If you think later on you can just change the OS to android think again because it will constantly stop working for you.
