I actually didn’t read the title, but I definitely felt personal joy hearing Louis go “YESSSSSS” when the Apple logo showed up! Amazing repair vid as always :)
Louis: "You may remember me as this amazing, wonderful, talented board repair worker..." Me: "I remember when you would use excessive amounts of flux just to annoy Paul."
I love that watching Louis over the years just looks like a diary of watching Louis slowly loose his sanity but meh kinda seems like everyone’s going down that road I’m still here watching too
I absolutely love this dude. He is a prime example of what we need in this world. A rare being of camaraderie within his channel, very generous with his knowledge, a charismatic & healthy amount of bias (about cats/victims/etc(;), & just a well rounded, humble, balance of persistence & passion while linking it all together, inspiring others to try new things. Epic way to get it done man! The level of devotion you give to your craft speaks in high volumes. Thanks for sharing !
It is currently 2:11 AM and I have work tomorrow morning. I watched this whole video I'll have you know lol. Glad to see that it worked in the end, that is one of the greatest feelings ever when you fully expect a board to be dead, do some trivial work to find that the board is flawless.
Its always a nice treat when the Rossmann Realestate channel does some repairs! Jokes aside, though I do find the repairing part interesting, the housing crisis in New York hits a lot closer to home, despite me living almost entirely across the world in Ireland.
You taught me how to solder. My soldering skills work now. I can solder. Before.... no. I never used to tie down my item. I'd press on the item with the iron and it would move across my desk. No wonder it didn't work. Thanks to you, I realised that I needed to press quite hard on the wire with the iron. Hard enough to make it shift if not tied down. Simple.
The laser pointer seems like a real upgrade for the viewer. I've really enjoyed seeing your repair videos evolve and i wish more people would view them even just for entertainment value.
I seriously find these videos soothing to watch. ASMR macbook repair. Louis should make a 10 hour macbook repair compilation, with random clips of all his rants.
Regarding all those test points, almost certainly in-line in circuit testing during manufacturing, where spring loaded pins make contact with the points all at once and runs a test programme

My the flux be with you. We repair our own products with similar equipment. I have never seen someone use as much flux as Louis but it works for him. Where is the chat?
If it required a part he can't get because of Apple's stupid policies, that's probably why. He's said that before, that there are machines he COULD fix if he could get part but Apple deliberately makes them unavailable. Some of them he can get through "unofficial" channels, but some he can't.
The thing is it's the clean ones that are worse than this because you have no hint as to what can be wrong. I don't touch the machines anymore because I have issues with my hands staying steady that make me poorly fit for the heavy workload that we have here, but I assure you Paul, Chris, Dan, and David are well trained up to my standards if not better at all of the work that gets done here
@@rossmanngroup guess it’s my own undoing. They just need to clone you. I appreciate all your videos and “training” over the past 8 years or so. Now I just wish I could find these A2141 donor boards like I used to find all the old boards. Seems impossible to get the ones with the holes in them, from China, these days. I’m sure your guys are great at what they do… but there is only one Louis Rossmann… I kid-I kid!

Can the SMC reset chip be removed on a1502 and it will work normally? I have problem with manual reset pin forced magically low on the SMC reset chip. I can only think the donor chip I used had same fault. Anyway with chip removed I get fan spin for half a second then nothing, but at least magsafe lights up. Should I continue to find which power rail has a problem or I really need to sort out the SMC reset chip?

Not to bad. Sometimes an owner will lose touch with the day to day and skills needed to do stuff well. You see this guy doing lobbyist stuff and youtube and other stuff and wonder if he can still help in the shop. He can. I'm a little interested in other stuff can he process orders, ship, deal with vendors... There's a lot of moving parts in a busy shop and I would like see him do other stuff and see how his shop tackles some of these things. Sometimes the "work" is the easy part of the business. I'm confident he can and probably does this stuff but we don't really ever see that part of the shop.
Why not use the 'donor board' as the final board and use parts from the repair board to get a fix? Didn't look like any corrosion on the donor board so may have been an easier fix.
