I agree about wrapping the hair every night. When I wrapped my hair at night regularly i to noticed the tender spots and some thinning. Never knew it was my hair getting use to that direction. I also didn't know you could put leave in conditioner along with your oil every two or three days. I only did leave ins after I washed my hair and then oiled my hair as needed. I'm going to try this now!! I've been enjoying your videos thanks to my sister sharing your relaxer video with me.
Sandreah N thanks and I’m glad they are helpful for you. Yep I have to moisturize and seal often especially when I have a lot of new growth, my roots get dry very fast so I have to do it often. It’s a lot of work but worth it 🙂
I absolutely agree with the wrapping. My left side edges are all but gone because of wrapping. It would be sore but I never clicked at first that it was the consistent wrapping every night doing the damage. If only I knew then what I know now. Thank you for putting this out there so most ladies can have the choice and at least be aware of this potential (yet avoidable) problem.
Thank you for your very helpful , useful, safe & gentle relax hair content. I always have that burning lightly painful thinning, yet I continued to wrap my hair , as was, originally told. And I love your Low- to No Heat hair styles also. But most of all Your tips on style your hair while stretching time between relaxer touch ups..Great Content.
Your hair so beautiful, great tutorial. Yea I’m definitely switching back to relaxing, i tried the natural approach and it has been a nightmare, I did a big chop, then several little chops due to severe damage that I continued to incur and no matter what product I use, my hair is still so dry and coarse, my hair has always grown long when relaxing, less breakage and easier to manage, it seems to be medium/high porosity when straightened but when natural it is LOW porosity, extremely resistant to absorption, I use a dryer as well but my hair refuses to take in product, I have babied it to no end and am done. More power to those that are success stories going natural with 4c hair but it’s not for me.
I completely understand, I tried and lasted 8 months and was miserable. I refused to cut off my hair so I tried to transition and it was just so much work and I had so much breakage I gave up. I am happy with my relaxed hair, it is much healthier and yes I commend those that are successful with it.
I was natural for all of 3 months... Lol. But now I'm texlaxed and my hair is thriving... my natural hair is also 4C and low porosity, product would just sit on top of it. But now that in texlaxed it's medium-high porosity
I feel like I wrote this myself. I could easily maintain super healthy hair with a relaxer. My hair has suffered so much naturally and with all I've had to cut over the past 8 years, I could have waist length by now. So I commend those who survive but I'm getting out the water now!
Marion Scott right I do commend them but we have to realize it’s not for everyone. I have my daughter’s natural hair to maintain and that’s enough for me.
Hello. Thank you for the videos. I've been on the right track with my relaxed hair-I never put heat to my hair between touch ups. I pin curl my hair at night then put on my scarf but I will start using the cantu cream and oil to seal it in twice a week. My right edge and one patch in the front has breakage. When I saw this it reminded me when I was a kid, and my mother would use condition to the front of our hair. It would lay flat and was STRONG!!! Thank you
Wow, this does help! I like the bantu knot method and also the bun without the scrunchie because sometime I put a scrunchie on when I put my hair in a bun and wear them for one week but my hair is not breaking or anything like that but this is a good ideal. Thank you so much for sharing this routine it was really awesome, God bless you💜🙏
Just went from natural to relaxer and I start watching ur videos .. I must say I’ve learned a lot from u 👍🏽thanks for the relaxer tips .. where can I get the satin scarf ??
I seriously wish I had your videos when I had length. My hair grew so much more when I was pregnant with my son. About two months after I had him, it was shedding like crazy and I was told it happens after having the baby. I was tired of it and I did the BIG CHOP. I cut off all my long hair to the scalp. I grew it out again and went back to the relaxer. Got some length and chopped it off again. Now that I'm 48, my hair is not growing back like it has before. I haven't cared for my hair as much and now I regret it :(
Maggie Lherisson Hi Maggie welcome. The only trims I may do myself is search and destroy or I part my hair in two bring it to the front and lightly clip the ends. When I need a good trim I go to a hair stylist. It’s the only thing I go to a hairstylist for. I will do a video on how I do my mini trims when I need one.
Paula Allen do you mean how many times do do the loose bun as night time routine? I do it every night when my hair is not in a protective style and If I am not doing Bantu knots.

Wat if u HV shorter hair
Shana Jean if your hair is shorter try sectioning the hair and doing Bantu knots or pin curls.
How many times for the week you would suggest to do this ?I did it just now .
Paula Allen do you mean how many times do do the loose bun as night time routine? I do it every night when my hair is not in a protective style and If I am not doing Bantu knots.
You could be Kenya Moore's sister I swear!!
Cross wrap instead..
Love
