    We just bought a condo in Gulf Shores about two blocks down from the Hangout on the beach road but not on the beach side. Love it, and I’m already looking forward to the time when I will not rent it to tourists but live in it.

    One con is between late May and early sept, tourist season, locals can forget about eating out at a restaurant, unless you want to wait 3 hours

    • @obaliving
      @obaliving  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true, it can get quite crowded in the summer time. That is when local delivery like timetoeatthebeach comes in handy....LOL. Thanks for watching

    Sooo, here's the truth. I'm from the Midwest, have been local for app. 3 years. First, Hurricanes "destroy" the immediate region. "FEMA" is/was a joke, it's all about "you and your neighbors". It's a very timely (long) process to recover, and "insurance" companies do NOT PAY. The summers are brutal, if you are not at the beach, everybody "lives" within "4" walls, hence "AC", it's TROPICAL. The tourist as they noted during the summer, along with spring breakers make it almost impossible........The beach is beautiful, though as you migrate east the clarity of the water improves, actually "BLUE" in color as you reach Destin (FL.), you are escaping Mobile Bay and the mouth of the Miss. in the process. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach is very nice, BUT directly north is Foley, NOT desirable (just 15 minutes north), followed by Summerdale/Robertsdale/Loxey, all being NOT desirable and just 30/40 minutes up the road (or "59"). So, the immediate area, hence Gulf Shores/Orange Beach is very nice, decent restaurants, and "cheaper" than east towards Florida. Beach front is all condos, hence investment properties, very "FEW" actually reside in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, endless revolving door of "guest" weekly. BUT when you are from the Midwest, it's a "beautiful thing".

      Paul VonAuth thank you for watching and thank you for the comments......We really do appreciate and respect everyone's opinion, and yes we do agree with you on some of these....LOL. Again, thanks for watching our channel. What part of the Midwest did you come from?

    Where is the best place to vacation at Orange Beach?

    • @obaliving
      @obaliving  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you are asking. Orange Beach is an island so pretty much every area is amazing. Are you asking best place to stay ? As in condo? Or hotel?

      @obaliving  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chenthariley9014 I would say check VRBO.com and look at condos on the beach. Anywhere in Orange Beach at the actual beach is amazing and you can not go wrong. I tell all my friends to check on VRBO.COM because it is the easiest and cheapest way to find a place to stay.

    I am from india. got job offer in coastel restaurant. They offered me 15usd and is that enough to survive me

    • @obaliving
      @obaliving  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a tough question to answer....I can tell you that the cost of living on the beach is a bit higher than other places. Most people who work in the service industry in our area usually live in Foley or one of the smaller towns close by (about 15-20 minutes from the beach) and the cost of living is much lower than the beach. Hope this helps!!!
