Hello, thank you for this video! Do all fuchsias grow to be shrubs like that big, or there are different types? If it's in a container, can it still be grown as a shrub?
I have 3 small fuschia plants that barely survived a heat wave and a harsh winter, they are 1/5 or the size they were and I am worried they will never get back to what they were. I’ve been fertilizing and cutting dry dead branches and re potted and still doesn’t feel like enough.
Your plants have been stressed by last summer’s heat, followed by a cold winter. It’s still very early in the season for them to grow, so you need to be patient. Keep the plants frost free, the compost just moist but not wet and don’t feed until you get active growth. Once growing you can trim back to encourage new growth. Martin
@@PotsTrowels Thank you so much for responding!! I am beginning to see new growth, I’m hesitant to cut anything but you are saying it’s okay to cutback now, even cut off new buds because it’ll encourage even more new growth?
