@@raulantunez4228 I actually understand that part. At first I don't bcs at that time i’m still a little kid. But now that I grow older, it was such a deep scene than I thought it will be. I’m not a fan of Titanic, not for the love story. But I love the special effects, cinematography, BGM, the hidden meaning they put in each scene & how similar it is to the original story.

It's impressive that Titanic is still in the top 5 and at number 3. It came out in 1997 and ticket prices were averaging $7 at that time. When you compare it to Avatar, which had the 3D ticket price bump and Endgame, which came out when ticket prices average out to $18. It just kind of blows your mind not only to think how many people saw Titanic but went to see it in theaters multiple times.
And in Disney terms, the Lion King has out-grossed plenty of films that came out between 20 and 30 years later (another example of a film which did very well)

I don't think younger people understand the massive impact Titanic had at the time. I saw it twice in theaters when it came out, and the feeling that everyone had when it ended is indescribable. Not a single dry eye. No one said a word while walking out of the theater. The most surreal movie theater experience I have ever had.
@Michael Valensi Who is putting young people down? All I said was that the younger people weren't around when the movie came out, so they weren't there to see just how massive it was.
This movie came out the year I was born, and it is legitimately a movie that helped define my childhood. I grew up watching it, and I’m not at all ashamed to say that due to its effect on my life it is my favorite movie. I think this movie had impacted the younger generations stronger than you could imagine 😊

Graphics were mediocre at best in almost every non Avengers Marvel movie. It’s where all the budget went. Antman and Spiderman movies knew how to make good use of their limited budget and looked great.
Same thing with the big Harry Potter and Star Wars movies. Like every other one they didn’t put much effort into because they were making too many at once.

The most important thing to remember about Titanic, was that before that film it was thought impossible for a single film to gross a billion dollars at the box office. So although these huge CGI, sequels upon sequels have pushed it out of it's number one spot, they can never take away the fact that Titanic was the first. They did what no one thought was possible plus it gave us two of our greatest actors of today in Kate and Leo, how can you not love Titanic?

When was making $1.35 billion not “killing it?”
Some of the kids in Stranger Things claimed they might retire for life. That was before they demanded a raise. A lot is always relative. Even box office bombs and straight to dvd movies often make a big profit for everyone within a few years. Paramount, for example, would have gone out of business with every film they’ve made in this millennium if movies/shows did as badly as they said.

Well as much as Tony Stark and Peter Parker were my favorite characters in all of their movies... I was still quite bored in like half of their early movies. No franchise is perfect or can pander to all their fans from the beginning.
I think the fact that Avengers 1, 2, and 3 have little to do with each other plot and tone wise speaks for itself. In the first Avengers they didn’t try to pander to the public and as a result most people were lost and uncomfortable. It was an actual Superhero movie. boring if you aren’t hardcore.
