I want to think you for your videos. I am a budding herbalist and you're so informative and thorough. Also I suffer from PTSD and I'm having a really really hard time tonight with intrusive thoughts and memories and your video is so soothing and comforting nd calming. Just what I need right now. And I'm learning bout something I love.
GREAT video. lemon balm is so easy to plant and spreads like mint, so take care where you plant it. Thank you and God Bless for the time away from you life that you share your knowledge.
Thank you so much. Having had the virus and compromised immune system as a result this will be my starting place to rebuild my immune system. Also thank you for the resources to purchase Lemon Balm.
I've always loved lemon balm. Just the smell of it makes me happy. That's why I grow so much of it. Unfortunately, last summer's crop died off because I was sick with covid during all of August (I was in chemo so ANY illness or injury took twice as long to recover from). My garden didn't do well. I wish I had known more of lemon balm's abilities or I would have added it to my treatment. Plantain did wonders for me and I firmly believe that plantain is why I was able to stay out of the hospital. Maybe, if I had done a little more research into lemon balm, I could have recovered faster. Elderberry was out of the running because it's contraindicated for the chemo drugs. I'd be interested to hear what other herbs might have helped me recover quicker from covid (or any other respiratory illness). After the chemo, I find I really want to stay away from the Big Pharma snake oil. It's done nothing but make me LESS healthy and after thinking about it I realized that Big Pharma doesn't WANT people healthy. Healthy people don't buy their goods.
Thanks for your comment! Sending healing wishes to you. Please note that there are many herbs and food to support our health. Best if you could find a holistic health care provider to work with you in person.
I love lemon balm! I’m totally convinced we’re attracted to the plant we need the most. I’ve have lemon balm tincture. Looks like this is going to be a nor’easter task☺️. Thanks for sharing Dina!!!

Hi just stopping in to say thank you just got your book . It is now the most valuable book on our farm . Side question what will break up blood clots . Know someone with bad blood clots from a medical process . She is scared very scared
Hello John, thank you for your comment here. Happy to know my Foraging & Feasting book is well love on your farm! Please note that I can not give specific medical advice. Can you get your friend to work with a healthcare provider right away who can help her with food and herbs to support her through this? Hoping so.
i love lemon balm. also when I make potent infusions with nettle I just don't put the lid on until everything is cooled down and then I put it in the fridge overnight with the lid on. When I make herbal oil infusions with fresh plant material I add a bit of wax paper before closing the lid and I never get mold but I do check every day to make sure.
Thank you very informative just started with Lemon Balm in a pre-made purchased tea and will be careful with it because I am on anti-thyroid medication.
I have two Lemon Balm plants growing wonderfully! I love to stem and drink! Yum! I am learning that it thins the blood. I guess I will now have to check with my doc about continuing to drink as we just discovered I have an irregular heart beat -bummer!
My lemon balm is tucked in the green-house. It is in a pot but I think I'll plant it in one of the raised beds this spring since it doesn't seem to be as aggressive as regular mints. Look forward to harvesting some leaves and making a tea with it!
My poor husband was suffering terribly from a nervous belly. He saw multiple doctors for help. The irony is, I was growing a ton of lemon balm at the time. *sigh*

Thanks Dina! Your whole dried leaves are beautiful. Please help me dry my tulsi. I air dried it last year and it turned black and flavor totally destroyed. Tip on how to successfully dry tulsi leaf, if you please? Love learning from you!
Hello Cary, Here is a video about drying I made that should be helpful: th-cam.com/video/vvWzFuwY9s0/w-d-xo.html And / or you may want to use a dehydrator set around 85-95 degrees F for approx. 8 or so hours, until the herbs are crisp and snap when broken. Then store in air tight containers in a cool, dark place. The drying times and temps can vary, since the plant material may be wetter or dryer, but keep in mind that you don't want too much heat, as that will destroy the aromatics, so best to keep temps under 100F. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hello Meem, thank you for your comment. As you may know, I am not able to give specific medical / health advice on the this platform. And it is always best to work with someone in person. Still, for immune support, eating a healthy menu low in sweeteners and abundant in nutrient dense foods goes a long way. Generally speaking, herbal infusions of lemon balm, sacred basil, and even nettle may be helpful. Best wishes.
Hello Nikita, not able to give specific health advice, but perhaps hydration is an issue. And herbs that are emollient / demulcent could be helpful too.
You can use them fresh. Can't comment without seeing the spots, but thinking, if the plants smell good and otherwise look healthy, you should be able to use them.
Hello Melanie, thank you for appreciating my videos! When dealing with thyroid issues, there can be concern with lemon balm. And please keep in mind that this information is not meant to replace medical advice. With any new food or herb, go slowly, research it, and discuss using it with your healthcare provider.
If you aren't going to forage for the herbs, perhaps you can buy it from a local herb shop or natural food store. Or you can buy it online from Jean's Greens Herbal Tea Works, or Mountain Rose Herbs.
Thanks, in cooking, you lose vitamin C and other volatile compounds, but you also liberate the chemical constituents. By making an infusion, you are drawing out the beneficial compounds, but also keeping the steam (the volatile compounds) from escaping by tightly capping the jar as it steeps. Hope this helps.
Thanks, it grows wild where I live (NY) and in many parts of the world, so often no need to grow it. Still if you are asking how to grow it, here is info from Strictly Medicinal Seeds: "Mullein prefers disturbed soil, will grow in clay, gravel or loam, likes full sun and requires only moderate water. The seeds are light-dependent germinators. Sow in spring by sprinkling on soil surface and tamp securely, then keep warm, evenly moist and in the light until germination, which is rapid. Thin or transplant to 2 feet apart."
Thank you for your comment. Please note this information I share is not meant to replace medical advice. With any new food or herb, go slowly, research it, and discuss using it with your healthcare provider. Generally speaking: okay for folks with heart issues and diabetes.
I’m wondering if you can offer some help. My niece was given a choice after surgery a few days ago. To stay in hospital or go home. They didn’t tell her they’d be sending her home with 5 5 mg oxycodone to deal with pain immediately after two rather invasive surgeries. She lives a few hundred miles away from me. I still want to help. I don’t believe in synthetic pharmaceuticals personally anyway, so I am trying to find some way to convey good sound info to send presented in a way her parents will try. The current medical system has really dropped them on their heads this time

Hello Brooke, thanks for your comment and suggestion. I'll keep it in mind.
What are your thoughts about steeping this herb for 24 hours prior to consumption?
Good question, thinking that would be fine, just keep in mind, that in warm weather, the infusion may begin to ferment / get funky with long steeping.
