Number 1 in the uk hip hop album charts was a massive achievement. Hopefully Ren will gain the recognition he deserves now. I want to hear Ren on Radio 1 and Capital Radio. Ren is the artist of a generation and deserves that acknowledgment. Everything he does is gold. There’s not a single Ren son I don’t like. The guy is an absolute genius.

BTW, Ren does not believe in demonetising his songs. You can play them on full screen or without blockers of any kind. He knows that his community, us Renagade's and you, reactors, got him to where he is. This guy is the real deal and anyone that listens to him knows it. ❤❤ Happy to join and listen anytime you play Ren.

The Shell thing is a bit of a deep cut of corporate history. The Shell Company was a London based company that sold tropical shells to collectors and had a vast logistics set up to do it. Royal Dutch Oil bought out the company to acquire this network to distribute their product, forming Royal Dutch Shell.

The tongue-twister "She sells seashells by the seashore" is believed to be a tribute to the Victorian fossil hunter Mary Anning of Lyme Regis, discoverer and excavator of the first plesiosaur skeleton ever found in the UK, among many other accolades.

You raised questions I hadn't considered, you offered thoughts about the effect on future generations (I don't have kids so that rarely crosses my mind), you gave me a new angle to view the world that had never occurred to me.

The more I hear from Ren the more I realize his Solution is to be a Teacher Opening the Eyes of Millions with his Art and his Heart! And I think Ren's message is Crystal Clear. Ambition and Passion Without Compassion Will Cause the World To Burn! But Ambition and Passion WITH Compassion Can Save It! His Compassion is Manifestly Obvious and If enough of Us actually LISTEN to his words, then Maybe, Just Maybe the Hunan Race may Survive!

Great reactions, If you like this, try his trilogy "the tale of Jenny and screech" +violet's tale. There is a video with all three. I agree he is genius and I am 68 years old, lifetime music lover, earliest music the woodstock era, although I was young teenager then, great music is timeless, we still hear music on the radio daily from 50 years ago, but Ren hit me so hard, he just stands alone. I was never a rap lover, but his rap is infectious. You will see, you cannot help but go down the path to explore him, and he does have a pretty large catalog of music. Liked and subscribed today!

Damn right. I’m the same age as you, same musical memories & progression. REN is a genius. I’d lost faith in music, minaj et al just broke my heart, that’s not music, they’re not songs! Where was the beauty? The poetry? The thought and the musical competence were totally absent. REN has all the qualities needed to make truly great music, and he already has such an excellent back catalogue. Using his pain & his struggles to give him purpose, and to help millions of others, people with their own pain & struggle, find their voice and feel heard. He has empathy and is so obviously a genuinely lovely bloke, proven by the love his friends have for him and how far (literally) they’re all willing to go to help him recover, achieve, excel and actually live a life unconfined by his bed, 4 walls & constant pain. His talent is huge and I’m sure will continue to grow. Even if he never wrote or sang another word, his work will live on, inspiring so many in the future. But I think his passion for life and the rapid pace of his thought processes will ensure he has a long, and hopefully healthier, less painful future. REN, Aurora & Dimash have restored & refreshed my love of music, a love I’d stepped away from because I’d found it so unsatisfying & empty. Respect. From Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸

I loved your thoughts on the messages behind each one, and the progression of the story in three stages. It’s so interesting to see how different people relate to different parts of part 3. Loved your take as a parent to younger kids!
I see the bags over the heads as individual Plato’s caves. Ren is so detail oriented - the way his hands scrabble to unwind the rope once he realizes is so subtle.

Thanks for doing these all together... it really is both an internal and external battle. I love that Ren is aware of the fact he is both talking about the evils of the game and at the same time hoping to be #1 in his album release and how he's had to reconcile that. He is a legend because he is aware... and it doesn't stop him.

I just found your channel today because of Ren. I typically don't leave comments often, but as a Ren fan and nanny, my ears perked up when you mentioned that you have a young teen. One of Ren's older songs, Dominoes, is a must listen. I'm not asking for a reaction video to it or anything, though I'd love one if you chose to, but to just give it a listen. It's an important message for our youths, especially in today's society, so obsessed with arbitrary beauty standards. I look forward to more of your reactions!

MG Part 1 ... I think the ending is inspired by the Buddhist monks. I found a good description of what setting themselves on fire means to them: "By setting himself on fire, the monk embodies his vows in the most powerful way he can. By doing it in front of others, he hopes to awaken those who don't recognize that they too are living in a burning house, and that they must find their own way to quench those flames or to escape." Perhaps based on the monk who set himself on fire in the 1960s to protest the persecution of the Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government, an act of defiance.

MG3 - Yes, that's Ren playing piano at the beginning. He also composed the music for piano and strings, except the opening few bars of course. He directed the video and produced the music/audio. It was recorded live but it's not quite one take. They had to make a single edit, during the wheelchair sequence, as the "rain machine" kept malfunctioning. Yet another incredible and masterful performance from Ren! Overall? An absolute masterpiece... again! :)

I learned on the comments of another reactor that there is kind of a twist to the nursery rhyme (selling seashell on the seashore) and the fact that he sings “sell oil instead”. Apparently the brothers who started the company Shell (the petrol company) got the name from their father who imported seashells from Asia.

Great reaction to these masterpieces! ❤ Ren had a game about the seven deadly sins for players to find clues and whatever all over the world. The final one was greed and the final winner needed to find a suitcase with their reward which was a lot of money. The guy found it on an island in Scotland. The pig man was there and he had to dig. He found a case with all this money. And there was another unopened case. In the one with the money, there was a bottle of gasoline and a note that he could take all the money and walk away....or burn it and take the other case. He decided to burn it. Then he opened the other one and all there was, were seashells and an apple with a note that said "bite me". REN is genius! The poor guy ended up with the shells like the money game 2. (sorry if i got any of it wrong)

A genius with an abundance of creativity and empathy trying to make the world a better place - for the individual who finds relatability in his art and for the masses who need to come together as a community to make changes. You know Ren doesn't copyright strike reactors, so you don't need the transparency. Loved your reaction - really thoughtful, insightful, articulate. Don't love background music tho!
I hope you won't leave so long between Ren songs now. I'm here for more!
    All the Best to you---

Part 1: My interpretation is as follows...
    - The bag on the head and the rope represents the old style money bags used by the banks (we can see them in some movies) and it means that people are blind because of money.
    - He wants to kill him for being so blind, but every time something makes him stop (consciousness).
    - So, he finally wants to open his eyes (that he draws).
    - But realizing that it doesn't work and opening the eyes of people is impossible, instead of burning him he decides to burn himself because he can't accept to live in a world driven by money and corrupted politicians.

Kudos to you, man. I think you nailed it right on the bat. Cannot know for sure, but all you said goes so in line what I heard Ren talk - and made perfect sense, listening to the songs. They even kinda confirmed your interpretation (don't blame the others, start from yourself -> literally what he says in the second - and of course at the explanation part at the end of 3). And I concur, he's a genius - one of a kind.
