Thank you for your help throughout the years On my Ford 550 the sensor was reading 1580 Degrees Fahrenheit 20 seconds after starting the engine. I ran out like this for six months before the engine stopped running. I knew it was bad but there’s always tomorrow to repair it.
Great video as always bud. This has left me on foot three times and I'm really considering taking off the emissions off of my truck. I don't feel that my truck is reliable as long as it has the emissions still on it. Thumbs up.
As it turns out I also replaced the #2 EGT sensor today. It was the older style. I have a feeling here soon I will be replacing the next 2 sensors down the line.
I have a p2031 Permanent exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 2. I have replaced sensor EGT11 and EGT 12. Any idea why it is still showing on my scan tool as Permanent? Thanks for all your great videos
Thanks for the video...i got a P2032 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 2). Is that the 2nd sensor from the front? Its a 2012 f350 supercrew.
I have a 2016 f350 diesel dully. Engine light came on and dropped by Napa, they ran a diagnostic and got a P24A0 3 times, Is that the same problem with the sensors ???? Im not a mechanic, can you recommend some one in San Diego who is affordable other that a dealership ????
Thanks so much for your vids on these problems. I have an 08 that bank1s3 was giving me issues. Temps would range from 294*-2000*. The truck is tuned and doesn't need the sensors but the PCM will still sense them if they're shorted out I guess? I replaced that sensor, plugged it back in and it still would read erratic temps. Figure it must be a short somewhere in the harness or the plug on the truck side? I unplugged it and ran the truck it instantly read 294* which would be fine cause it's within limits. Any idea of spots where the harness could short if there is a short along the harness? Thanks again man, the cut and 1/2" socket tricked worked perfect
I have a 2008 6.4 l power stroke it is throwing the P 200 E code for ait code but after it cools off it runs fine and it's the bank one Is what the code is saying it runs fine until it gets warmed up and that's I'd think it's the sensor flipping out
I got the extended warranty. Which is great but I can still be stranded. Is it worth just to have them replaced with new part number and not have to worry.
Can you give the part number for this part? I Have a 2012 F350 King Ranch and this has happened to me at 12k (under warranty) and now again at 63K (not under warranty). This is my second 6.7. My first one was a 2011 F250 and the dealer had it longer than I did with a problem they couldn't fix. Ford did nothing on either case.
Good info. Thanks for making these videos. My #4 sensor is tossing a code every so often. Not stranded yet, thank goodness! But I want to change it before my luck runs out. Anyway, mine is a 2008 6.4 and in your video you say the PN is the same for 6.4,6.7 however when I go online to get it, the 2008 has a different PN that is 3 times the price. Does the AC3Z5J213 in fact work in the 6.4?
+ibldrc Did you get any info on this? I need to replace the pre-cat sensor and with all the part numbers I have found related to this I would appreciate any info. Thank you in advance.
+1kArghArgh , No direct answer, but I looked around a bit and it seems to me that the PN noted above has a different plug, so it won't work on the 6.4. I bought the 8C3Z part number, and my local Ford dealer actually had a competitive price at $58.
+FordTechMakuloco I have a p247b on my 2012 f450 but the truck starts and runs no problem. Is it safe to drive for a couple days? my business uses this truck to ship goods OTR 4 days a week. doing about 400km per trip. Thanks!
+FordTechMakuloco yep I just bought one at the dealer. what did you say in the video, I need a 13 mm wrench? I have no bay to do this in is it ok if the sensor gets a little wet? it's pissing rain out!
+FordTechMakuloco thanks man you're getting a sub out of me!! what about starting up a website where us 6.7 owners can talk to you directly, I and many others would gladly pay for your expertise!!
FordTechMakuloco I replaced the sensor in question and cleared the code with a scanner. CEL went away and after a few hours(4-6) of driving the light has returned. Is it possible the sensor I got is faulty? Is there a way to test that? THANK YOU!
My diagnostic computer says circuit bank 1 sensor 2. Can anyone tell me from the front of the vehicle which sensor it is? I am assuming it’s the 2nd one from the front but don’t want to assume if someone can confirm.
I have a 2009 f 250 and the check engine light is on I ran it on the computer at autozone and it said an egr temperature sensor is bad so I bought one but I have no idea where it goes and can find a video or diagram can you or anyone help me please??
This just happened to me with my 2011 6.7 F350 Lariat. Local ford dealer says waiting time for parts is over 1 month! Could you please recommend a good diagnostic tool I could purchase so that I may see which of the four sensors is playing up. TVM
All you need is a scan tool that can read codes and that will tell you which one like this for example- bank 1 sensor 4= EGT14 and so forth for each sensor. They will set a code for sure if the truck is down. This backorder problem is why I say almost a good idea to have one in the glovebox.
I have a trans problem in my 08 f450 6.4 , it wont shift into Drive or Overdrive, any sensors or solenoids I should look for ? It has 121K on it , and runs like a top, I like reading your site , Thanks
Don B Any codes set? Those transmissions are very complex compared to others there are lots of possibilities. First thing that needs to be done is pull codes, then check fluid level, perform pressure test. see which gears are actually affected and then finally a pan drop to check for debri. Is the fluid burnt smelling?
FordTechMakuloco Yes, two codes,p0488 EGR throttle control circuit ,I know what that is.p1000 OBD system readiness test , don't understand that one. The fluid level and color is fine, no change .I don't know of the pressure test or where to test, haven't dropped the pan yet. truck has only 121k miles on it , and just off warranty
Mine did that a few weeks ago. I got stop safely in a drive through, the truck shut off and I got stuck in line. I got out on a flatbed before the 60 minutes was up. Talk about some passed off customers and store manager.
You should be able to unplug it cycle the key to on and manually flip the starter on as shown in my 6.4l video. This one as is with that high fake temp would not even allow that though.
Is there any way I can tell what sensor is bad. Without the laptop. If I replace one and try to crank it will I have to wait 60 min and try another sensor
Hey I was wondering if you ever get a chance could you make a video or tell me your experiences with 2012 focuses that wander all over the road at speeds above 45 mph.I saw a tsb that said replace the rack and do a reflash.I've got 33k on mine and my fiance has 30k on hers.also a 2003 ford Windstars with growning power steering noise.its been flushed I've also gone to mercon v (I use all ford fluid and parts). I've put a pump on.we've had the problem since 2004 and the ford dealer just ran us out of warranty.
I have a 2008 Ford F-250 powerstroke and had an exhaust leak my DPF was loose because the bolts that hold it together where stripped and the hot exhaust air melted one of the sensor wires the one right on the DPF. How do I look that part up to buy it or what sensor is that. I'm having trouble trying to purchase it because I don't know witch part it is. I need help thanks
Hello fordtech! I got a problem maybe you can give me ideas. I have a 2000 mustang gt. It has been running awful. I had a misfire with a check engine light. All coils were replaced check engine light is off. It seems to have a misfire again but no check engine light. It seems to do it when the car is in normal operating temp. When i drive it feels like it jumps to overdrive to quicky im lost on where to begin. I was wondering if a spark plug is bad will it throw a check engine light? Anything will help thank you
Thank you for your help throughout the years

Your the man dude. Thanks for this video, I ordered them and got all 4 changed out in my 2012 in no time. Thanks for the help!!
Thanks for the video. I just changed the rear most EGT sensor on my F550. Erased codes and haven't came back yet.
As it turns out I also replaced the #2 EGT sensor today. It was the older style. I have a feeling here soon I will be replacing the next 2 sensors down the line.

Hi, so you telling me that on my 2010 cab and chassis EGT sensors go 1243?
I'm replacing the diesel particulate matter sensor. I broke the threads off inside the bung. HELP! Where do you recommend I go from here?
I have a 2008 6.4 F350 with a code of P040D and I just wanted to check if this was the one behind the passenger fender well?
So which sensor is it for #13 , since u said it’s reverse , we’re will
It b located ford f 250 6.7 2012
I have code p040d “egr temp sensor A circuit high”. Where is the EGR temp sensor located?
Thanks so much for your vids on these problems. I have an 08 that bank1s3 was giving me issues. Temps would range from 294*-2000*. 2011 6.7. Where is the egr temp sensor located have a p040d code
Love your videos! My EGT sensor is impossible to remove. F250 6.7L #4. You know of a trick to loosen them without stripping?
May I ask you what tools you using
I have a 2008 6.4 l power stroke it is throwing the P 200 E code for ait code but after it cools off it runs fine and it's the bank one Is what the code is saying it runs fine until it gets warmed up and that's I'd think it's the sensor flipping out

Is this the same as p0243? Mine just came on 2013 6.7

I have an 08' F250 diesel...when the"cleaning exhaust" comes on, why does the cab of the truck smell like diesel.
Laura Gomez Because it is dumping fuel down the exhaust when the exhaust valve opens.
+FordTechMakuloco I have a p247b on my 2012 f450 but the truck starts and runs no problem. Is it safe to drive for a couple days? my business uses this truck to ship goods OTR 4 days a week. doing about 400km per trip. Thanks!
+VTL It can shut the engine down if it fails high, the sensors should be in stock now and they can be swapped in 5 minutes.
+FordTechMakuloco yep I just bought one at the dealer. what did you say in the video, I need a 13 mm wrench? I have no bay to do this in is it ok if the sensor gets a little wet? it's pissing rain out!
Yeah sounds like the right size water wont hurt it there is tons of water in the exhaust systems

@fordtechmakuloco I'm getting a P220E code from a 2011 6.7, is this an actual NOX Senor problem or is it a grounding issue?
Ihave a 2015 f 450 and I have this masqge speed limited to 50 miles I change all the sensor and clear the codes and stils have the same masage
@fordtechmakuloco i have a 2006 explorer with a p0108 code reading, what is the solution?
+ryry50001 your fix is to replace the egr system module.
Mine did that a few weeks ago. I got stop safely in a drive through, the truck shut off and I got stuck in line. I got out on a flatbed before the 60 minutes was up. Talk about some passed off customers and store manager.
Coopers_dad can an egr delete fix this issue
Thanks brother for showing us your knowledge 🙏
mine says egr temp sensor A circuit high???? i lost 75% of power please help
How do you get those stubborn sensors out of the bungs? One came out easy other two are in there.
Scott Reid I have a video on the 6.4L egt sensors you use a torch to heat the bung.
Great video bud, keep up the good work.I gave you a thumbs up.
Great video! Will the 8C3Z-12B591-E work for an 08 6.4l F250? Thank you in advance sir.
+1kArghArgh No that sensor is for the EGRT system on your truck not the EGT sensor for the DPF as shown in this video.
+FordTechMakuloco Much appreciated sir. I was hoping it was an improved sensor for all platforms.
Are these exh sensors on the 6.7 powerstroke still on back order for up to a month
JonesDieselPerforman As of now they are caught up and plenty are available.
Ok great thanks for the response
Appreciate the work you put into these videos
Could you unplug the faulty sensor and cycle the key for a temporary fix???
You should be able to unplug it cycle the key to on and manually flip the starter on as shown in my 6.4l video. This one as is with that high fake temp would not even allow that though.
Is there any way I can tell what sensor is bad. Without the laptop.
If I replace one and try to crank it will I have to wait 60 min and try another sensor
kevinator213 Pretty much without a code or live data you are guessing.
FordTechMakuloco I just replaced all 4. Company truck and company money. Thanks for replying ima sub now. Thanks
What kind of scan tool do you use?
Ford IDS

Never had anyone complain about one yet, but yes I see the tsb you are talking about.
Have they come out with a superseded one that is reliable
+149taylo It has superseded multiple times yes.
Yeah it also has a brand new cat and a brand new DPF is PF diesel particular filter

Just had this happen to me last night, I barely got off the road before it shut off on me.
Aaron M did your truck not crank when it stalled ?
Ford just sent me a warranty extension for the EGT's......I guess it is a recall of sorts. I have a 13 F250 6.7.
+Sean Childress yes they finally stepped up with an extended warranty.
Whats on for to day?
Awsome INFO...thanks for taking the time to share!!

How long since the coils were changed? Also are they motorcraft coils? If autozone pulls codes there are none?
I have a 11 f250, anyone else’s dealer refuse to work on it because it’s more than 10 years old, mine did
Thanks for the help
